In my business group there were 13 engineers with various titles and roles. 9 of the 13 were outright cut and 1 left to another business leaving 3. We’ll see if my workload changes…..

Perhaps my impression is wrong, but it seems to me that the leadership no longer has any plans for the growth of the company nor particularly cares about it.
