The only thing associates and store management can do is make their voices heard, or possibly stage walkout/protest like they are doing at Macy’s, target, and amazon on May 1st, leadership like this cannot continue to ruin American corporations.

I have been a manager at Belk for about five years and this is by far the worst I have seen it. Everything is hanging on by a thread, It's like a house of cards about to collapse at any minute.

Why does belk hire people who are let go from Macy’s? Countless people who worked at Macys and some who have been fired for all different types of reasons. Just curious, any thoughts?

Belk should be nervous about not having enough people come back to work, now that they all get unemployment, most will quit for good.

So a 50% pay cut is MUCH different for an executive earning $700,000 or more a year, than a poor manager or STM making $45,000/year. You can still live high on the hog with $350,000

They have decided to shorten the store hours this week from 12:00 pm to 6:00pm. Full-time workers are getting 23 hours and partimers 3 hours a week. I'm worried.

Monday - Sat store hours 11-6, sun 12-5 in wake of coronavirus, but they were cutting store hours before this virus situation even started.

Belk has the ability to be great again if given proper leadership, but the bloated salaries of the executives and upper management bleed the company dry, most store workers work for very little, its the bigwigs who drain the company dry.

Belk stores across the south have lay off today, the positions were clerks, operations, HR, and housekeeping, most under $15 an hour, so so sad for the ones who lost jobs.
