I'm a recent new hire and now I'm feeling like a total piece of crap for believing mgmt lies about a new turnaround. Should I be worried or not considering they just hired me? Or does that mean I'm safe? Freaking out right now.
The Mammoth Cometh and days of famine will endure for years until the righteous are elevated.
Devon pretenders don't know what to do. They have lived in the ivory tower too long. Economics will demand deep cuts. It's going to hurt. Many will be let go and salaries must be cut back to 2003 level. If you last it will be a rocky ride. You maybe... — read more

Is HR supposed to be approachable or cold hearted? Kristina McLeland HR so called business partner in Calgary.
Probably the most unapproachable person I have ever met in my life. She doesn't even have the courage to face a employee or leader on a issue she would rather run up the org structure and complain to a director about another leader. Aka witch hunt... — read more

2016 Layoffs
What is 2016 looking like? Did Devon mange to re-hedge at $50/bbl? How many more will Devon have to lay off to survive?
LTI
I was hired in 2015 and given LTI that don't vest for 2-4 years. What happens if I get laid off before they vest? Are they still mine? Didn't think about getting laid off as I was getting hired.

Per EK4fKxws post, don't hold your breath on Mgt. cuts.
Granted, there's a significant group of inept (Boyd, Buchanan, etc.) amongst the mid/upper Mgt. but once you're in that 'elite club', you're basically set. Don't expect any real changes to the core.

Hearing rumors of another round coming for Devon Canada in Q1 (likely that G&A still not healthy enough, even after October cuts). If true,
