Start with land and then just keep moving

John Raines and all his early 30's suck ups, then move to all the other departments and due the same. This company's heyday ended with John Nichols. Used to be a good company now it's a joke. Sure glad we got that building though

Anyone else feeling the pressure?

Still at Devon, not sure for how much longer. Oil down to $37s today. Alot of people still seem to be in denial & think they're safe forever. Am I the only one feeling like the axe is about to fall?

Energy Jobs/Company Spending Is the New Housing Bubble

Let's face it, overspending, over investing, over hedging and over hiring was rampant over the past few years with the oil speculation bubble that has been around starting at the $100/barrell price fixing a few years ago. That bubble has finally... — read more

A snake like approach

Layoff employees without telling them in advance, is what snake would do, not a company like Devon Energy that touts its integrity and upstanding in the community.

Ben and Lane

You didn't have to work hard to let a handful of us go. Oil prices go up and down. Peoples lives are more important. Did the how many ever IT people you let go impact Devons bottom line? I hope Karma doesn't find you. You have not only hurt an... — read more

Being laid off is tougher than anticipated...

Even with the 'dignity' that Devon laid me off from my IT role, it feels terrible. It is not as terrible as losing a loved one, and my health is intact, but it is its own beast. Other than being prepared for a layoff financially, there is no way I... — read more

More Layoffs??

Was all of the layoffs last week in IT? If so, was it only in OKC or did it migrate out to the assets? Also, is there any rumblings about other departments being hit in the near future (next year or two)?

Devon could learn from Sandridge Energy

At least they did it with integrity, communicated to the local media and asked their employees to reach out to those who lost their job and see how they could help. different culture.

The Truth is in the postings

Look everyone we know that Devon lies. Believe me your job is not safe. Deeper cuts are coming because IT is being outsourced. They just don't want to tell us. Look for more and more red. Those in the PMO take a look at the new model emerging and... — read more

At Devon, integrity is at the core......
