PP must go!

Second quarter net new assets and household growth are both down. FAs are leaving. Home office productivity and morale are at an all-time low due to the 6 month enterprise reimagined debacle. This is a colossal failure of leadership. She has... — read more

New EJ Contractors

I know some associates who hold MBA’s from accredited colleges/universities whose positions are now being performed by home based contractors in India. Does anyone know the employment qualifications for Indian home based contractors? Are they same... — read more

Where is PP?

We are due for an inspirational talk. When is the next one?

ISP criteria

The ISPs will be communicated in a couple of weeks and I know many of us will be impacted. The cascade 2 process feels like a black box. I hope the ISP selection criteria is objective - i.e. based on criteria like skills, capabilities, performance... — read more

Listen to your body

About six months ago I left my job at EJ after nearly 20 years and honestly it changed my life. The constant stress and toxicity were ki-ling me, to the point where my blood pressure was through the roof. Almost a year later, I’m off meds and feeling... — read more

Need some updates!

I wish we could get an update. It would be helpful to know targets in each department. Wondering if it will impact leaders more than associates. Who’s going to do the work if they remove associates? Already super lean

WMFM open forum

Did anyone catch open forum yesterday? How come all of the L4 leaders of chuy so nervous? Chuck, Russ and di seemed to be so uncomfortable when they were answering questions.

Good days/bad days

I have my good days and bad days at the firm. Opted to not take the VSP and I'm torn. My mental health is important to me and so is providing food on the table and paying my bills; like everyone else. Won't let me guard down, but I'm certainly not... — read more

It's different, but is it better?

When ER was first announced, I thought it could be a decent idea. Cut the bloated leadership, weed out the toxic people who are just here to ladder-climb, prune those who clearly don't carry their weight. Focus on work that helps our branches and... — read more

LP - liquidate now?

Is anyone else thinking about liquidating their LP while they still can, even if they survive this nonsense? I have zero trust left in the ELT. I'm wondering if I should liquidate now to at least get my money back. I don't think I will ever invest... — read more

Hold Times Will Get Much Much Worse

Former HQ associate who left recently due to severe psychological challenges which were brought on by working at Jones. The forces training that is going on is so bad. They are forcing associates who are not completely comfortable in certain topics... — read more

The uncertainty is ki-ling me

Lately I can’t shake the feeling that everything could fall apart with one email. Does anyone actually feel secure anymore or are we all just pretending?

Not an ideal client

I am a tenured associate but not an ideal client. I don’t have 250K of investable assets. But I save my money, have invested in the 401K and am a limited partner. With all the leader changes and firm changes, I’m starting to think my money isn’t safe... — read more

Such Poor Taste

I’m an HC associate and yesterday Suzan sent out the HC Newsletter. Not sure if she even writes these, but it was in such poor taste. Rather than highlighting and thanking the 500+ associates who will start to depart next month, she kicks off by... — read more

Edward Jones = CHAOS

Utter chaos. Too much change at one time. Many people making decisions who know absolutely nothing. This is not going to end well.

SOS

It’s so bad. A lot of people are in a really bad place as we wait to hear what happens. I’m doing the job of 3 people. This isn’t the Jones I know.

Freedom Day

From this point forward, September 5 shall be officially recognized as Freedom Day in my household.

Pooling

Thoughts on pooling? Seems like that will be the source of most of the ISPs as they repeatedly mention reducing duplication.

Wrong leaders

Some of the GPs that are leading the cascade 2 design are not qualified to do so. Despite the known gaps in ability somehow they survived the cut again. 😒

List of GPs reimagined

When will they release the list of GPs that were reimagined? Does anyone have one? And why are they calling it “retirement”? I have associates in my area that really think our GP is taking early retirement and congratulating him when that’s not the... — read more

I'm glad I left

I'm glad I left. Had a very nice ride as an FA. But I got tired of being lied to. I got tired of the double standard- GP's can break all the rules, but FA's can't. The 'woke or broke' theme just got to me. Ted would be furious if he could see what's... — read more

Confusion on ISP date

I thought it was going to be by end of August, but a coworker says no it’s by end of next year. Can anyone clarify this?

PP should resign or be forced out

If she had any ounce of decency she would fall on the sword, much like Doug Hill did or if the remaining partners on ELT had any stones, they would remove her. It’s the only way to save ANY face and salvage the firms reputation in this disgraceful... — read more

I wish I would've taken the ISP

I was offered the ISP but didn't accept. I am now regretting my decision. Does anyone else regret not accepting it? The environment is getting really toxic and everyone is becoming more and more cut throat and heartless. It makes me sick to my... — read more

Working 70 hrs/week

I’m an employee. And a friend who also works here at a different division is now working 70 hours per week after so many of her colleagues got cut. How is this making the organization more efficient? Can ELT pls explain? Are we expecting people to... — read more

Ready to wrap it up

Five years and counting. I’m damn good at what I do, but I know I’m never getting a real shot to move up. After surviving the last round of layoffs, I realized nothing’s ever going to change. I’ll just keep working hard to avoid getting cut next... — read more

Refusing to hire non-GP roles externally

They announced this week that in Cascade 2 only GP roles can be filled by external hires. Every non-GP opening is now strictly internal. This not only risks further eroding what’s left of our culture with more outside GPs, but also severely... — read more

Do branch teams even care?

I've heard FAs are cheering this on and want the cuts at HQ to go even deeper because they view home office as dead weight. True? Not true? If you're in a branch and reading this, I hope you understand how negatively this will impact you. I also... — read more

My productivity is gone

With layoffs looming, it’s hard to care about projects knowing I could be cut any week. Even if I survive the next round, there's always the one after that. How do people even stay motivated is beyond me.

Hope they reimagine Digital Product

Digital Product is the most inefficient division. The people there are technically inept and depend on outside vendors for even the most basic technical knowledge. All they do is get in the way of business getting its work done. Hope they reimagine... — read more
