Ford is not complete with the SRD. There is no announcement for blue collar workers layoffs. 7000 salary cut isn't enough to save the company financially. There will be more cuts, but Ford CEO is not telling the employees or the public.

Need the margin especially in a downturn. The thinking is that companies with larger margin can increase varible marketing (incentives) and still show a profit. If Ford's margin is small they cannot match and remain profitable.

Think we agree that the layoffs are gonna continue throughout the week. How much further can we expect this wave to go on?

Everybody seems to agree that the older, long-time employees are the ones that could have been targeted the most. Does anyone know if that was, in fact, the case today? Were the long-timers mostly hit today?

Not properly training people to have the skills to get jobs outside the industry, only hope is a lifelong career and promised pension and they throw you out. No one should buy these cars.
