Sorry
Rotunda Center was a madhouse today
Every desk/seat was taken. People were parking in the driveway and even on the sidewalk. I was lucky enough to get a desk with a broken monitor. It was crazy.
ROT Hypocrisy
An immediate mandate to RTO 3 days a week was handed down in ET today, despite recent assurances that we would remain 1 day a week in-office until Sept 1st, and then go to 4 days a week. Worst part? Entire teams (dozens of LOCAL people) under a... — read more
Has anyone ever “rage quit?”
If so, tell me your story.
I get all my work done in 30 hours max
The rest of the time? I’m just lazing around. Is it wrong not to look for more work when I have zero plans to stay here long-term? I don’t think so. Ford hasn’t shown any loyalty to employees, so why should I show any in return? Why bother?

RTO 3 days a week starting tomorrow for ET
Genuinely wish best of luck to those who will have to find desks/parking/meeting rooms every morning from now on. Gonna really maximize productivity to have people tripping over each other in the hallways and hearing a dozen separate meetings going... — read more
Layoffs rumored for mid aug
There will be several rounds and it will mainly be focused on those who worked on FNV4 and were made redundant by the cancelation of that project. There are many.
So what is this about Thursday 08-08-25 being the layoff day.
And Friday 08-09-25. I thought it was going to be Monday 08-11-25?
Pension or lump sum
Not the place to ask, but hoping to get some that have retired recently. With Ford’s future in doubt, it makes sense to go with the lump sum, but then the money will have to go into the market which you cannot trust. I fell like I’m in lose-lose... — read more

BCG planning
We are gonna get counseled out. I can feel it. Why don’t we just pitch massive layoffs. Even if they don’t need it. Usually freaks everyone out, gets the attention off us. Marin, put together a radical right-sized proposal— just in case we need... — read more
Whatever happened to the effort by workers to unionize KY’s EV battery plant?

Farley: And if we lose this, we do not have a future of Ford.
It’s the most humbling thing I’ve ever seen. Seventy percent of all EVs in the world, electric vehicles, are made in China. They have far superior in-vehicle technology. Huawei and Xiaomi are in every car. They have facial recognition. Cell phone... — read more
SKUNK WORKS OR STUNK WORKS? (THE HOMER 2.0 RIDES AGAIN!)
Oh boy, here we go! August 11th, Ford’s bringing out their Skunk Works EV, the stealth-bomber of electric cars, except instead of flying under the radar, it’s barreling toward a cliff with the confidence of Wile E. Coyote in a rocket suit! And who’s... — read more
How long has your job search taken?
I just hit week five and already feel like this might drag on a while. Not feeling too hopeful at the moment but trying to stay focused. Just wondering if others are in the same boat.
Sick days increase?
With folks going back into the office, I wonder if Covid, flu, and colds, numbers increase?
The Ballad of Doug 'Pink Slippers' Field: Three Strikes, Still Hired
Scene One: Tesla, 2018. Doug’s big debut! The Model 3 production ramp. Picture it: robots dancing, parts flying, Musk sleeping on the factory floor. Meanwhile, Doug’s like, “Uh, this automation thing… is hard.” Result? Elon yanks the wheel, drives... — read more
Michigan’s Economic Dependence on Ford
How has Michigan’s economy historically depended on Ford, and what are the risks of relying too heavily on a single corporation? Could they be perceived to uphold a power that allows them to act recklessly?
Karma
Do you think these past few years, this company has been in a bad storm? Like karma? Or evil eye?
What is this news about Aug 11 being a model T moment
Anyone any idea? Did the skunk work team deliver any production model which ford is going to show to world on Aug 11? Looks like lot of other orgs will be redundant after that for sure
Trying to get Hired back
I was let go in 2023. I was pension eligible. I am currently working as a contract. How do I get hired back at Ford. I need a HR contact please-just to waive whatever requirement they have.
Return to Office

2024 sets new record for highest revenue in company history

No layoffs until October/ November
I don't expect any layoffs until Oct or November. The company expects a lot of a attrition from retirement quits due to the RTO mandate. Why would they do it any sooner and pay a severance to all those who are going to leave on their own?
Did Colorado buy another building and did Nashville get some of their floors back in that building?

Ford Model E reported $1.3 billion loss in 2nd Quarter.
Model E is running out of money. When will it end? OMG. If I owned a business that lose over $1b every 3 months, I would file for bankruptcy already.
