New retirement plan is reason
RIF is pushed back due to overwhelming amount of volunteers scaring management and the fact of the packages they would have to pay out. Honeywell is going to force everyone on to a new retirement plan so they can force people out a lot cheaper than... — read more
Wonder if timing of RIF is some how tied to JDA buy-out.
Seems interesting that word spreads the RIF is pushed to September about the same time as the Blackstone Group is offering JDA Software a financing plan as an option to being taken over by Honeywell. Hmmmm the RIF brakes came on pretty quick.
When it happens...
Well, if it happens to me in late Sept I at least have severance pay though New Years day.... I would think.
HTSI employee transfers to other Honeywell businesses blocked
I heard that part of the deal with KBR included not allowing HTSI employees to transfer to other Honeywell entities thereby avoiding a brain drain after the announcement of the sale. Is this true?
Mexicali
Mexicali low-cost engineers might not be as experience as US engineers but they must be doing something right and they will eventually become experience. Can you become low-cost engineer??? If not, then evolve, globalize, or get out the way.
Torrance
Torrance cannot be closed and transitioned completely to MXL due to ITAR/EAR restrictions on military hardware. This rumor has been going on for years.
Pack your bags
User Opinion: If you are PP&C in Clearwater, pack your bags. ETS is outsourcing techs to PR as well as engineers. MCOE is taking cuts, if you are software outside of SWCOE, pack your bags. If you are a systems or program engineer with low yield and... — read more

The layoffs will happen the week of August 15th.

RIF At Torrance
Does anyone have an idea if the Torrance facility will have a RIF or will it close?
Wake up

Shorting Last Paychecks
Calculate carefully. Owed pay and vacation being shorted.
PAY ATTENTION! A WALKER IS CHEAPER THAN A SQUATER!!! If you think this is fear mongering BS, then ignore.
If you are in the US (not PR) you need to be looking for a job or wait to collect your severance if it fits your personal situation. Manufacturing won't be here, if you think they can't offload or outsource, your wrong. Puerto Rico has large... — read more

Honeywell Phoenix
Hearing today that aerospace will be selecting the people to be played off not by job performance or seniority but by salary. Management was told they had to reduce by 15 percent. Not in body count but by department cost.
More rather than less!
Expect the layoff to be significant. HW is concerned that if they continue to have layoffs and furlough looming that their best people will leave. They want to stabilize their workforce for the 2017 decline in revenue.

Layoffs, Furloughs Driven by Efficiency, Honeywell Says: http://realmoney.thestreet.com/articles/07/22/2016/layoffs-furloughs-driven-efficiency-honeywell-says
I was one of the 20% that did 80% of the work....Schadenfreude!
I'm glad it became so uncomfortable to work at Honeywell that I quit 18 months ago. As an Engineer at the top of my field I was planning on working for 5-10 more years but who wants to put up with being treated like crap. I received 3 letters signed... — read more
Spending Money
The plant I work at is still spending money right and left. We are told to watch our cost. How do they expect the workers to work at 100% when there is a layoff and they act like everything is fine and dandy? We don't have much work(hourly) so all we... — read more
