How are people who are still working on site notified? Do they get a meeting notice via teams? Does HR come tap them on the shoulder? Did everyone who is getting RIFed already get a meeting notice?

Found out today that a coworker of 23 years. Was RIFd last month. Not voluntary. He did receive 23 weeks of severance. Can anyone else confirm this? I thought only volunteers recieved severance.
