Anyone still have a bunch of stock, waiting to sell? I am hoping it will hit 30.

Oregon layoff numbers

I left Intel last year but see the layoff news around that may impact my friends here in Oregon. Do we know the impact in Oregon and approximately how many folks will be let go here?

Name the drink

I want to make a drink for Intel employees what should I name it?

Which Intel Area Socks

Do you hate your area? What area do you work in and why. Diffusion socks. The socks ASM tools socks.

Convince Me

Convince me Lip-Bu will not leave in a few years.

what to do?

I'm on vacation for the next 2 weeks, but I got an email from my boss's boss asking me to cut it short and come into office by July 7th. I'm kicking myself for even checking my email, but old habits die hard! Should I just ignore it? Or do I come... — read more

Only one reason for Intel's failure.

Intel is in a bad situation because Intel didn't hire intelligent people. I had interviewed with Intel around 20 years ago and they didn't test my intelligence, they only tested my knowledge. I failed the interview because I couldn't answer one... — read more

My current mantra

Focus on my skills. Reach out to my network. Take care of myself. Nothing more to add...

The real lay off is next year

Head of HR told all HR employees that Intel will be looking to see which jobs can be automated or outsourced in a 6 month study and decide in Q1. Many jobs will be sent to vendors. This year’s layoff is just a start. The video is on circuit.

Who's next?

With execs dropping like flies, who do you think will be next?

Not sure what to do

Would you leave your current job for almost 25 percent less pay if it meant better benefits and, from what I can tell, significantly higher job security? Normally I wouldn’t even think about it, but I’ve been looking for nearly six months, and this... — read more

Is the SERMA account protected

Anyone have experience with losing their SERMA account if being ISPd. I'm 25+ years at Intel and have a healthy SERMA balance. Would that be at risk? Hopefully I'd be given the option to retire first if it was. I am eligible via the rule of 75.

Heard that department managers, area managers, and shift group leaders were to only perform skill assessments for the techs to submit to upper management and HR to make an assessment AND THAT upper management and HR would ne the ones deciding who to... — read more

H1B Heaven

Work for cheap and don’t say a peep. It’s not about skills, it never was.

If you are feeling vulnerable:

get your resume out there if you haven't done so already get copies of your documents that you may need like W2s, pay stubs, copies of you performance reviews if you feel like there is a potential for a law suit, etc... while you still have... — read more

It’s Friday tomorrow!

I probably shouldn’t be this excited, but the thought of getting away from the mess Intel is right now feels like a lifeline. Sure, Monday shows up before I can blink, but for now, Friday feels like freedom. And if work feels like prison, then yeah... — read more

What's up with Intel Penang in Malaysia

Got a large group of depressed Pelican seeds here at Intel New Mexico who were told they may be going back home soon in July with no jobs if the Penang factory falls through the cracks. What's the latest news on that site?

July 7th is when the hammer comes down

At least at Ronler. Mgmt gets flattened and some percentage around 20 get notified. Enjoy the holiday weekend, but the real fireworks start right after it. Not a troll. Seriously. 25+ year 'close to the wafer' vet.

I'm about ready to quit

If the goal is to push people out through constant uncertainty and scare tactics, then congratulations, it’s working. I’ve already started looking, and the next time something even halfway decent comes along, I’m taking it. I’m not hanging around... — read more
