What to expect this week from Les the Mess: Price improvements: maybe we can charge the customer for every email we have to respond to. Say, $2,500/ sentence. “Oh, you need some coating baby, that’ll be $5,000 for the quote itself.” “Then we add... — read more
50million Loss in the First Q
How does this management team still stay in place? This is a joke. The whole lot needs to be replaced. What a joke!
Why do you people stay at NOV?
Left 3 yrs ago and h couldn’t be happier. It will take about a year to put all the misery and hard feeling behind you, but it’s worth it. Forgive and move on.
Brace yourself
NOV will report yet another losing quarter on 7/27. Going on 10 straight years of operating at a loss. How can this be?
5% Raise at Creekmont
Raises will kick in before the end of the quarter.
Do you remember the time when competence meant something?
It still never ceases to amaze me how some manage to get positions that far exceed their competence. I wonder how these people manage to do the work for which they do not have enough knowledge, skills, abilities? It's no wonder that NOV is sinking. — read more
Bammel is the best
Bammel has the best Machine shop, Qc, and Machine shop ever
Let's get back on topic
When will layoffs resume?
NOV reports Q2 earnings 7/27
Analysts expect 5 cents a share profit. Is it possible that this non-profit organization will report its first profit in nearly 10 years? I doubt it.
3% Raise....Are you serious ??
NOV upper management is on dr-gs. They cannot think straight. What is the point of 3% raise ? Time to leave this company which is managed by a bunch of jokers.
Bammel
Supervisors and employees leaving due to the 3% joke of a raise 3% for 7 years unbelievable
The more competent you are, the worse it gets
It wasn't like that before. Competencies and skills used to be valued more. Now the NOV treats those who are the most capable the worst. Managers are afraid of such employees, aren't they? I have no other explanation.
I hoped things would be much better when the situation improved
I don’t worry about being cut anymore but I feel more underpaid than ever, as I do more work than ever. I feel a little naive that I believed things would get better for us here when oil prices start to rise. They were very quick to eliminate jobs... — read more

Nisku crumbling
Has anyone noticed the mistake they made At Nisku in the past few months. It is not a safe place to work. On top of that management is a trying to invoke fear and has replaced those that were trying to improve the situation. Quality continues to be a... — read more
Raises at Tubscope
When are they give us raises? This is crazy. They keep makeng more VPs and stuff but cant give any us raises in the shop.
Well that meeting was not enjoyable
Everybody at Bammel please pay attention to the writing on the wall. Step off like Johnny Depp did before you go down with the ship.
Incoming Recession??
Been 3 years since they gave us a raise. Guess with the potential recession that looks like we’re going to fall in to will make 4 years. Expect actual lay off posts to start hitting soon versus the current posting about the guy with the scooter — read more
Bammel kindergarden
With all this unnecessary painting of the floor. I dont know if iam at work or at my son's kindergarden
No phone, no service
NOV’s stupid decision to dump the phone system for a computer phone network I think has backfired. I can’t talk to anybody in the company, so that means neither can customers. There should be way more work when a barrel of oil is 121 bucks. — read more
Is there anyone decent left in mgmt?
With the mass exodus over the last cpl of yrs, is there anyone decent left in mgmt? The real leaders with any integrity, work ethic, true compassion for their people are gone. Who is actually qualified to replace them? Would they even want it? There... — read more
Changes you would like to see here?
I only see people come and go. Changes for the better I haven't noticed and NOV desperately needs improvements. Of all the companies I've worked for so far, I think NOV has the worst management.
Like Elon says, everyone needs to go back to the office!
I am tired of going from floor to floor, from office to office and not finding any good gossip! The problem is not enough people are coming into the office.I can’t even throw anyone under the bus for completely blowing an easy order for NEW rigs... — read more

No one has regretted leaving
I have yet to hear that someone has regretted leaving poorly managed NOV. Do you know anyone who has? Even those who left and accepted a slightly lower pay have meanwhile been promoted and are now doing much better than they did here.
FiberGlassSystems

Layoffs before month's end
Can we expect layoffs before the end of May? Or sometime in June?
They will never take responsibility for anything
It's become fascinating how the management is always ready to blame the employees for everything that is not good here. They never accept their own share of responsibility? Our only fault is that we didn't leave this place a long time ago.
Russia
NOV still working in Russia? They never let ethics get in the way of losing money.
Leadership
Isn’t NOV a non profit organization? If so, they are doing an amazing job.
NOV faces the same challenges as all other competitors but can not turn a profit
All of NOV’s competitors reported profits in Q1. Can someone explain why this is?
No severance during a recession
If a recession hits, is it possible for NOV to lay people off without severance? Usually, I'm not too worried about being laid off because I know that with severance I'll have enough time to find something new. However, since somebody mentioned that... — read more
