After 4 years of upheavals, mismanaged initiatives, poor leadership appointments, multiple rounds of layoffs (ala hunger games 2020), inability to connect with the collective employee voice, lack luster product, c-suite elitism and fostering a... — read more
Layoffs first, foremost, and only affect people doing the actual work
How come that reorg, drive for efficiency, reinventing, right-sizing, or whatever is the current fancy name for cuts, almost never affect layers upon layers of management, but always us, lowly working folk? It is silly to expect from the same people... — read more
Leave Nike
If you want to not worry about layoffs anymore, work in a non-toxic environment, work for a company that has a bright future, then I'm sad to tell you that you'll have to leave Nike. None of those things will ever again be true for this place. The... — read more
What's next?
What can we expect from this week?
What do you prefer?
To me, the WARN is doing exactly what it's supposed to do, giving people some time to prepare. Tell me, honestly, which would you rather have. 60 days notice that you might get laid off in writing with WARN, then termination and no severance No... — read more
Who is excited to go back to the office ?
Back to the office to see the empty desks where our former compatriots used to sit. Shall we pour out a drink for them? It will feel odd as we await our own fates in May watching every interaction for a sign. Ugh.
More decks than a cruise ship
Coming soon to a huddle near you to explain how all of this makes perfect sense. . . .
MD email?
Morbid curiosity from someone who was laid off. Can someone paste in MD’s email?
The Engineer will write code (?)
MD’s email was funny .. she has to spell out the “distinguished engineer” will write code. The copilot adoption is failing cause nobody’s is writing code in Nike! Nike was and always be a consultant driven company … have some pie in the sky ideas... — read more
The world is in peril and WWIII is around the corner. Should Nike change their product lines?
You can continue living in la la land, hoping that your retirement money is still somewhere, your job still maybe there, but think.... Instead of producing clothing and shoes for inner city hoodlums purchased with dr-g money for the most part... — read more
How does JD have such a good approval rating on Glassdoor?
Usually that’s indicative of if he stays or goes. 88% approve. What gives?
What I’ve learned from layoff.com
There isn’t a single ceo or person in the world that can fix Nike. Everyone hates everyone. John is definitely a villain, rose colored glasses makes Mark Parker look like the hero, yet he had rampant boy club behavior running underneath him. Phil... — read more
The Path Forward
You read in John’s message last week (2 months late after ruining your Christmas but a day early to sc--w your weekend) that in order to compete and win, we must fire a few people for what we now think matters most because the last thing didn’t work... — read more
You cannot please all of the people, all of the time...
NIKE has been a great company for many. Not a great company for some. We may agree to disagree on current direction, or even decisions made in the past. People, processes, investment, priorities, etc. The one thing we can all agree on is the only... — read more

Damn it, enjoy your life! Sc--w this company, and sc--w any other company. We’ll get back on our feet, and there is life to live beyond mostly stupid jobs.
Right Out Placing needs email
So I tried to get set up with Right for the placement/transitioning help and they require an email and contact name from HR. I can’t find it anywhere in the packet. Does anyone know what to use?
Now i can wear what i want
Competitor brands that are less expensive and better quality and cuter…come out from the shadows!!!
Oh Nike this is layoff level bad

So happy to still be here!
Like many of you I was worried to the point of seeing a therapist because of mental breakdowns and physical agony. But now that I see I haven't been laid off, it shows that those loyal to the Swoosh and those who keep the faith are rewarded. The ones... — read more
Try to enjoy the weekend
Something tells me next week might not be as calm as we are hoping it will be.
VP, VP, VPs!!!
Right now in Workvivo there are about a dozen articles talking about the new orgs. The numbers of VPs mentioned in those articles is just absurd! Weren't we supposed to save money? Get a lean organization? I don't even know who's my boss right now... — read more

With the announcement that tech ops still has the same do nothing VP (ec) and weak team (aa in dc’s, th in ops and all below him) how is he allowed to chill in Atlanta while his team is required in office 4-1? Depressing
MP > JD
We all can agree that JD is the reason Nike is failing and will continue to fail...did MP see these business decisions coming and left so the layoffs etc wouldn't stain his "legacy"? Do you think Shoe Dog would ever petition MP to come back?
Business Ops?
Does anyone have input on whether or not global business ops teams that support functions like merch, brand, product, etc. will be affected in phase 2? Assuming I’ll get “everyone’s on the chopping block” but figured I’d put feelers out to see if... — read more
How much would be the severance for some one with 1 year and half of service Grade 40?
I understand people won't probably share their severance due to NDA so I thought I ask the question another way. I would get 2 month of salary (WARN) but how much extra I am looking for a year and half service? Please be kind.
Severance agreement?
I was laid off yesterday. I got all of the documents on Box, but I don’t see anything I need to sign to agree to terms of receiving severance. Anyone know anything about that part?
Don't get too happy this is almost over
As soon as one round of layoffs is done, the next one is in the planning. It's only a matter of time before the whole cycle restarts.
APLA ReOrg
After that email, it seems like a lot of stuff is about to be changed.
NA Technology
If you ever think of being part of that team, RUN as far as you can. Fake leadership, constant retaliation and favoritism, toxic management.
Please proceed to phase 2
So there you have it. We Iive to work another day. Well until May anyways when we repeat the same process for the lower levels. Good times.
We've lost so many good people
It would be great if layoffs were really getting rid of underperformers. Nobody would have any issues with that, I assume. But that's not the case. We keep losing good people, hard-working people, those who have invaluable knowledge and experience... — read more

Age discrimination

It'll get better
