This is becoming ridiculous

Our team has been so overworked lately that we have completely lost any work/life balance - all we have left is work. I'm having issues dealing with it and I'm in my twenties and single. I can't imagine how my older coworkers with families are... — read more

Letter to CEO

Who else is ready to sign a letter saying we are not going back in the office? Not sure about you all but we (Rockies) had been told for months any possible office time would be "hoteling" when needed. We deserve WFH if we can do it. Let's get this... — read more

Anyone else get out at triple digit stock price?

Anyone else leave Oxy and cash everything in at 104 stock price and still laughing at the current employees who can only come up with message board typos, 'ok boomer' statements or how proud they are of Piper Alpha to make them feel better? Lol.

Working at the Office

So far, it seems like it has been a huge waste of time for most of us to come back into the office. Most employees that I interact with still prefer to meet over teams rather than in person. Also, considering the 610 north exit from 59 is closed AND... — read more

Duplicate/ unnecessary functions?

I absolutely agree with the person who says that duplicate and unnecessary functions should be eliminated as soon as possible. I just wonder how many people would get laid off at Oxy if the company was guided by cutting those who really perform... — read more

Higher prices

What has improved since oil prices jumped? I don't see any significant improvements at Oxy other than less talk about layoffs.

Just couldn’t wait

I debated on whether to hold out on early retirement (3 years to go) but with the environment being so toxic and my health not what it used to be I decided to leave and make a go of it with another company. I’m doing part-time work that isn’t as... — read more

Planning to quit?

I wonder how many people at Oxy intend to quit very soon or by the end of this year? Will there remain anyone who is talented and capable? I hope that none of my colleagues will quit because Oxy doesn't seem to care that these people need to be... — read more

So what’s up?

So the oil price is lookin good now and you folks don’t have much to gripe about. What’s the deal? Are you now satisfied cause your makin da money.

Far from ideal

I totally agree with someone who mentioned that many at Oxy not only desire ideal working conditions but think they deserve them. I wouldn’t get much involved in whether they really deserve them or not, nor do I want to say that Oxy doesn’t have a... — read more

WFH will be permanent soon

Oxy had a great chance of boosting company morale by implementing WFH permanently first amongst it’s peers. They could have been first to attract top talent and get the Company back on it's feet. They had a decision to make, and a year to plan for... — read more

No new layoff rumors?

Is there any new rumor about layoffs but that it wasn’t made up by some entropy lover? So, no one has any info on whether there will be any major cuts soon or not? Judging by the atmosphere only, there is enough tension as if there could be cuts... — read more

News on big oil spending.

Seems like the news is reporting oil companies are preferring to send money back to stockholders rather than sinking it into drilling new wells. Where is the Oxy dividend to stockholders? The only one getting money from the company is WB. Bonuses... — read more

Ways this company can survive?

When you consider its debt and unstable oil prices, the way this company is managed, the growth of mediocrity in the workforce, the future does not look promising. Has Oxy completely lost direction? How prepared is the company for future challenges?... — read more

Think outside the box

I know quite a few people who are still at Oxy and O&G in general because they don't think their skills are transferable outside of this field. That couldn't be more wrong. If you think outside of the box, you'll see there are plenty of jobs you can... — read more

Quarterly Conversation Q1 2021

Any feedback from today's call? I am glad to see no rush to lay people off. See BHP and others last week. Horrendous. Oxy keeps rolling. I am happy to see where we are going as a company. New initiatives, old initiatives wrapped under new names... — read more

New Record

Congratulation on a new record! It took 55 minutes for VH to mention diversity and inclusion and marginalize all of our colleagues. Well done VH.

Any actual fact based defense of Oxy forthcoming?

Many people have pointed out the pathetic and disgraceful company Oxy and its staff are on this message board using facts, track record, direct experience, examples and case studies of the company that has the worst record in Oil and and Gas. The... — read more

Oxy hybrid work schedule

Can’t believe Oxy has resorted to this stupid hybrid work schedule. It has nothing to do with covid anymore. If you really want a strong workforce then you want people who believe in the company and are willing to be in the office 4 and 1/2 days a... — read more

I hope rumors remain just rumors

and that merger will not happen, but according to Murphy's law - anything that can go wrong will go wrong. More than ever it is time to prepare an exit plan. How big of a cut would happen? I can only imagine....

Rumors of COP, PXD and OXY merger

Seeing similar talk of a merger between OXY, COP and PXD all over their layoff sites as well. Pretty scary or exciting if this is true depending on how you look at it.

MERGER!!!

ConocoPhillips and PXD are both in talks to merge with us! $32 per share value all stock being discussed. Finally some job security (if you do your job!)

Looks like one needs to say "yes" more often

Is that the only way here to get to promotion? As hard as I worked, I still haven’t gotten a promotion, and I know people who have been much less engaged and got it without a problem. What's the catch? I can’t and don’t want to be a yes person... — read more

Less work or higher pay?

I hear more and more complaints from my colleagues that they are underpaid, that is, that they work much more than they are paid. I am personally satisfied with the pay although I think I could get more for doing the same job somewhere else. However... — read more

June 1st

June 1st marks return to work and hurricane season as well. I am sure this hurricane of employees to office will flood our coffers to the brim. What y’all think ?

Still amateur hour

The trotting out of Hawaiian shirt as CEO’s closest confidant and right hand man in the early days of Oxy takeover of APC was a huge catalyst in our realization that Oxy was seriously amateur hour and we were doomed. Oxy realized at some point how... — read more
