Tyrants on 31! A Modest Proposal

With upcoming 30% pay cuts for L-OXY - combined with huge CAPEX cuts - why should the tyrants on 31 insist that everyone show up on a regular schedule? Given their performance (lack thereof!!!) VH and entire EC should only require so much handholding... — read more

The materiality principle, in accounting

VSP L-OXY

Anyone know if VSPs for L-OXY are still available or will they be offered again?

this is the smartest move ever

Let’s picture this Lowe the pay by 30% to LOXY Wait till Aug , Lower the lay by 30% L-APC Lay-off based on the reduced salary. As long as VH is still the CEO, there will be no reorg.

COC hopeful here

So I made the mistake of betting on OXY and rescinded my VSP election. Worst. Decision. Ever. Previous poster mentioned loss of 2020 LTI awards. I received 2019 LTI but don’t get LTI every year, maybe half of the time. What are odds that this... — read more

Pure madness

Has anyone who’s opted to take the LAPC VSP but still working considered filing for COC now because of the 4.9% paycut and loss of 2020 LTI award? The lump sum and PTO payout will also go down. Surely all of this should be enough to trigger COC... — read more

C’mon People!

We can all see where this is going. If there ever was a time to put all of your energies in preparing for what the future might bring, it is now.

Oxy is being Smart about this

First, OXY doesn't care about you. That's just life. The reduction of salary is smart, but it's the first step in screwing you. By doing massive salary reductions they are saving cash now. Plus hopefully shedding some folks that are going to try... — read more

Anyone Angry?

Upvote if your angry! I can't help but feel angry at VH. Now they may just be buying time for major layoffs. I don't trust them anymore!

Carl Icahn

Now that Carl is running the show, how long before y'all think he forces his new puppet to do mass layoffs? Do you think they will cut severance to minimum required 2 months under WARN and when do you think it will happen?

Merger Agreement

According to the merger agreement, Oxy is required to keep APC employees' salaries the same for one year. Read it for yourself on EDGAR https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/773910/000119312519144402/d745029dex21.htm Oxy/APC AGREEMENT AND PLAN... — read more

Employee Ratings - Performance

4.9 %

What about us LAPC folks down in South Texas that got practically given away to Western gas, found a loopehole to screw us out of the COC. And now we get cut 10% and it does not trigger COC becouse ita not a good enough reason.

Three Million Unemployed

Why are you not walking out?

Unless they are granting you all 60% of your base pay in restricted stock on a 12 dollar per share basis, you should walk out and let the company collapse. 30% of your pay doesn't need to go to Warren and Carl for their awful investments. Let... — read more

Don’t “mutiny.” Organize.

The major problem facing employees of this company is that we’ve taken management at their word for years. We believed them when they told us “Oxy doesn’t do layoffs.” We believed Vicki knew what was best for us because she worked her way up from... — read more

Time for Mutiny?

Icahn was getting screwed by VH so he took action. Time for the employees to take action? If we have a critical mass, we just not do any work on 31st. Well for those who are actually doing something.

VSP?

Just got my latest VSP check. Supposed to be paid to the end of August 2020. I wonder if VH and EC will have gall to try and cut VSP payments on “technicality” that VSP recipients are still “employees?”

Why does 4.9% pay cut not trigger CoC?

Anybody have a logical explanation for this, or does the EC think the little blurb about the "plan administrator says this doesn't qualify" will scare folks into not filing?
