Oxy, the su---r

Oxy says forget about oil & gas, let's make the company focus carbon sequestration. Great investment Oxy, your management are such geniuses. https://apnews.com/article/carbon-dioxide-capture-trump-tax-credit-a7290db5557a6f539eb5ba67a677aca0 — read more

Government employees

Although I don’t like to see people get laid off the federal government workers are finally experiencing what we in the private sector have experienced. That is the threat of losing your job and possibly being given a choice to either leave... — read more

$46…. Lowest price since 2006 (excluding the Covid era)???

Surely I must be mistaken!?!? I just looked at the company stock price on a chart on Yahoo. If you ignore the Covid era when the prices of all stocks crashed, the last time thatOxy’s stock was at $46 a share was in 2006. Is that accurate?

Ecopetrol deal nixed???

This seems a bit absurd… Didn’t Oxy check this issue out before signing the agreement? “Colombian president orders Ecopetrol to cancel US fracking venture” https://finance.yahoo.com/news/colombian-president-orders-ecopetrol-cancel-171548463.html — read more

What is Oxy’s bonus?

A friend asked me about the details of Oxy‘s bonus. I told him my target bonus. He asked how it worked and told me about how his company‘s bonus works. I actually do not know how Oxy‘s bonus works. How is the amount decided? Where is Oxy‘s bonus... — read more

What do the CR folks think?

It’s been about six months since the CR acquisition closed. What do the CR folks think of Oxy? What they expected? Better? Worse? Are they being treated any better than the Anadarko employees?

Y'all finally woke up

At long last, you are posting about what is important in Oxy land. $45 next week... This company need an intervention.

Anyone else thinking of leaving oxy?

I’m in land and you can just tell people are checking out mentally. I’ve thought about leaving with how poorly we are run (check the stock price) but with M and F at home, I think alot of people will stay and coast. Also, why do we have 2 VPs of... — read more

Vicki needs to go. DEI is dead

Worst performing stock in O&G space. 30% lower than before APC acquisition. Highest cost producer. Get rid of the clownshow and bring in a real management team. One that knows how to make money. Make 65 mandatory retirement age. Only person bigger... — read more

Too many useless VPs

Is why the oxy stock is doing terrible. We need less management layers who are overpaid to not add any real value other than saying yes or no.

Three years of stock gains gone.

Have to go back to 02/2022 to see this stock price. Steady erosion over the last three years. Company of choice, Leader in the Permian? You are the worst performing O&G company in your peer group this year. Forget your bonuses and brush up your CV's... — read more

Too many people in LA

The problem with the fires is that the housing was too dense. Because of the fires with time you will see more Californians moving to places like Texas. First Austin then Houston then Dallas and eventually Waco and Tyler. The Democrats are coming... — read more

Under $50 again

Starting to feel familiar... Good ship Oxy is floundering and the are rocks ahead....

Diversity program

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday ending “radical and wasteful” diversity, equity and inclusion programs in federal agencies, with DEI offices and programs being ordered to shut down.

Bonuses

What’s the word on bonuses? Target, under, or none?

305 Days

Is all you get paid for working 20 plus years at Oxy in a change of control package . No wonder you are irritated with the APC staff that got more than twice as much money. Oh I forgot, stock grants vested and long term incentives vested, plus much... — read more

Post Deletes

Just had my post deleted. Considering what they leave here for content, I consider it a complement. Oxy HR is a touchy bunch.

What does WB see?

Besides paying a 8% preferred dividend WB gets for his investment (PS..no one else gets this). Oxy's one year return on investment is -22%... Why not invest in Nvidia for example...Up 118% this year. I did and it more than offsets my Oxy position... — read more

This site

This site is so boring. If you want to be more like Shell, Chevron, or Exxon then please get some meaningful discussion going.

We still have it pretty good...

If you look at Exxon, Chevron, Conoco, and a few others layoffs are on the horizon for them. At least with Vicki she has been good about not having layoffs like other large companies. At Exxon they seem to use PIPS as a way to drive out many... — read more

Low performers are the problem

If Oxy would just get rid of the low performers that would be a step in the right direction. They just let them hang on for some reason and it brings the whole company down. I know people they do the bare minimum and do that not well, but they get a... — read more

Drill baby drill, good or bad

Does anyone think that the proposed “drill baby drill” approach will result in anything but negative outcomes for the upstream oil companies? Lots of layoffs coming from this approach.

RIP DIB

DIB will cease to exist as a stand alone group with a VP, and will just be another HR program by the end of 2025.

The Great Languish

Stuck at $50.00... Bad news. Laggards are soon devoured and the bone scattered. It's just a matter of time.

Q3 earnings

Q3 earnings look good except for high debt and pi-s poor dividend. Certainly no need for layoffs. No sarcasm here. Really.
