MN and ES roles probably just go away and save the company millions
Better get a person that can set strategy, build an accountable culture, and has a background in running operations. Too many incompetent leaders placed in role for the wrong reasons. In a process safety world, not good.
This is all useless chatter. It'll be someone just as useless as MW. Whomever will collect a fat pay package and will continue the status quo. All that matters is the stock price and the dividend.

MW is to jealous to let another CEO succeed his empire. If he can't get his term extended indefinitely, he plans to sell to Esso or Shell.

@ah which execs? I don’t think any internal candidate on the current ELT has a chance except EB. MN too old and others are not experienced enough
@a7 I think CVX will get an Indian finance guy fot DEO that will manage the company like a sweaty coal mine and outsource most of the jobs to other countries. He will maximize the revenue, decrease costs and increase profits for the investment banking companies that run the company with shares of stock.
@ar LC’s top successors are currently not in his organization. Our top senior leaders are protecting their remaining IT assets and temporarily housing them outside of IT so that LC can slash and burn the house down
Those leaders are too senior to impact us.
But I just want to know who’s replacing LC and AK because they’re making our lives a living he-l. Or anybody can replace LC… just let us know WHEN

Historically, the candidates for CEO has always been internal and typically in their mid-50s so they have a 10 year run for continuity. And, CEOs have had mandatory retirement at 65. But, there are not a lot of strong candidates currently, which is likely why the BoD extended MW.
