If you are Principal make plans for retirement
No one will hire Principals from QCT with no technical background. Companies in SD know very well how you get to principal......so don’t bother. All other hard working engineers are welcome to look around, please check: Illumina, ViaSat, Dexcom, GA... — read more
Broadcom lowered their offer to $79
They just lowered their best and final offer. If they can lower, they can also up the offer to $90. Fair game.

Breaking Down Numbers
Savings target: $1B - that's around 4,000 employees to be laid off (calculating with with overhead). Low-cost regions will logically pick up more work so the majority has to be in SD. It's not enough to change travel policies (which might save $8 to... — read more

2/20/2018 - On the Record - Christiano Amon, President: Qualcomm layoffs are coming, it's a matter of weeks, not months
For all of you folks who missed the memo, CA was explicit and we should acknowledge this: layoffs are coming. Based on what he communicated, things are about to unravel quickly and it will be a short sharp shock for the org. If you've been with... — read more
You know the management has to face the music (at some point)
Coming out of CA's meeting today I felt anger. I also felt relieved as it felt that layoffs will be happening within weeks and not many months (like they did before) - the agony shell be short. But, the question to be asked is one about the... — read more
Stirring old memories: why did Andy leave?
Irwin was grooming PJ to take over, Andy (AV) didn't agree with Irwin, they had a fallout and AV ended up leaving. That was a truly sad loss for Q.
Christiano’s Meeting today
Boy that wasn’t one slanderous Q&A session today. So which business units are getting hit ? Matter of weeks and not months he said.
Qualcomm “consistently dragged its feet” while engaging with Broadcom!
Investors - wake up. Change the board. You are being played (says Bloomberg): https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-02-20/glass-lewis-urges-qualcomm-holders-to-elect-broadcom-board-slate
WIth NXP acquisition on my mind...
Stress... What worries me is that when the NXP merger was announced, all the analysts went like: "Oh yeah, that makes so much sense! This secures QCOM‘s future!“ Now what does it mean when the merger falls through? P erhaps it secures our jobs in the... — read more

Insurance
Does anyone know how the insurance is going to be changed? Will it carry premium payment individually? They will get rid of UHC?
Paul Jacobs and Destruction of Qualcomm
Let's try to be fair to SM in this complicated situation. I think we can all agree he is nothing short of a PowerPoint presentation in human form and a sh-- leader, but he is not clueless. He is probably well aware, as many of us are, that QCOM is on... — read more

We need new management that recognizes Q as a semiconductor company with the added bonus of a licensing business.
Our management team (lets face it that is what we have: management instead of leadership) has focused too heavily on the easy returns of licensing. Being a pattent troll is not a viable long term plan for a company this size.
G-Bye Broadcom. Back to the long slow decay!
Hock is now reduced to inane accusations about the Q before shuffling off to different waters. His back-door deals to dismantle the licensing arm of Qualcomm will evaporate. Wonder who had promised to purchase and kill that from AVGO? Yeah - I was... — read more
Hock cry fowl
Broadcom just issued statement that Qualcomm transferred assets from itself to NXPI shareholders in a breach of fiduciary duty. Hock-san, is not that you were doing? Raiding QCOM coffer for greedy AVGO shareholder? Poof go billion dollars.

NXP closes before shaeholder mtg Hock walk. Dividend increase. Yeppers!
Frankly, I welcome Broadcom
Many people have been saying this, albeit less verbosely: Broadcom would strengthen productive parts and get rid of unproductive parts of the company. I would actually be happy about that, because I work in a productive part of the company, and I am... — read more

The way out of those dark days

You get laid off, when you get laid off
