Enjoy your life with your family

Layoff is not that bad. I experienced three times before, and each time ended up with a better company/job/salary. Enjoy your life with your family. No hatred on each other.

Why would anyone work in SW in QCT?

For those who like to write code why would you stick on with QCT (not r&d) - when all there is to do is port from one chip to another, triage the same issues on every chip, and next to no chance of writing new code?

Bay Area

Is no one else concerned about this? http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2015/07/21/major-quake-on-hayward-fault-expected-any-day-now-fremont-earthquake/ It is not going to look good when your 1 million dollar shack is reduced to rubble

Q is not the only company there is

As a long time q engineer (>10 years), I started thinking of qualcomm as the only company that does real work and solves tough problems. I used to look down upon broadcom for example, as if the company was somehow inferior. Similar feelings about... — read more

Maybe we should start dropping names if you think HR is reading this hopefully they'll pass the message on to the masters.

Have you ever get a 3rd party feedback request from your Sr. Dir. or VP? No. They protect each other. They promote each other. Anyone that has approached HR either in an exit interview, personal issue or transition knows they are not on your side... — read more

mistakes they have made. The negative rage and hatred will get us nowhere . There are no givens in life and I am grateful and focus on what i have at this moment not what i might lose . Be thankful everyone and hope for the best personal outcome !

I work at Apple. Was in QC before.

There are tons of other ex-QC people here as well. Hopefully some of them will chime in, but in my opinion, its hands down a far better work environment than QC. Things that are better: company vibe, cafeteria (excellent isn't strong enough word)... — read more

Q is done as a company
