Enjoy your life with your family
Layoff is not that bad. I experienced three times before, and each time ended up with a better company/job/salary. Enjoy your life with your family. No hatred on each other.
Why would anyone work in SW in QCT?
For those who like to write code why would you stick on with QCT (not r&d) - when all there is to do is port from one chip to another, triage the same issues on every chip, and next to no chance of writing new code?

Q is not the only company there is
As a long time q engineer (>10 years), I started thinking of qualcomm as the only company that does real work and solves tough problems. I used to look down upon broadcom for example, as if the company was somehow inferior. Similar feelings about... — read more

I work at Apple. Was in QC before.
There are tons of other ex-QC people here as well. Hopefully some of them will chime in, but in my opinion, its hands down a far better work environment than QC. Things that are better: company vibe, cafeteria (excellent isn't strong enough word)... — read more
Q is done as a company
