Don't drink the water!

EPA bans use of water tested at 500 and above. Qualcomm tap water tests out at 484. The new "Culligan" faucets test at 484. Filtered water is usually 25 (between 0 and 50). Qualcomm water using the new Culligan is likely at times over the EPA limit... — read more

Enlighten me on Old Timers

I see some frustration with Qualcomm "Old Timers" percolating in some posts on this board. I've been with the company for about 19 years, I guess you can put me in the "Old Timer" category. I do not want to go into a back-and-forth discussion who's... — read more

If I am affected by this layoff, I will jump from Building N balcony and land in the lobby...I can't take this anymore!!!

Not sure what I would tell the wife and kids if I lost my job and we had to move. Best to end this shameful life and send a clear message to the Q. I will live on as a martyr like those before me. HR won't be able to cover this up after customers see... — read more

Jobs and money can be replaced. Lives can't.

If you are impacted by this pending layoff, please don't do anything stupid to yourself. Jobs and money can always be replaced. Lives cant. No stupid job is worth it.

voluntary layoff?

Is there any way I could volunteer to be laid off? My past performance is good and I don't know if they will wipe out our current project. So I want to volunteer and get the severance package, and in turn save someone else.

What is the severance package going to be?

Anybody know what was typically done in previous layoffs? It might be a lot less this time since it's such a large number. I heard a rumor that we might get two weeks of free soda for every year on the job.
