SM or CA gone?

It seems INTC will either take CA or Q will promote him to CEO...they probably won't consider SM at INTC. Thoughts? Sarcasm and stupidity welcome...

Going private

It seems that management will sell the company to private Inc., after laying off 50% employees, by first quarter of 2019. There is no alternate way.

Next Lay off

Any idea when it is going to be. What I heard is management is planning to shrink the company by 35-40%. Lay off this year and throughout 2019.

Just wondering...

...what happens if the situation between us and China improves? Does that mean that we can try to acquire NXP again? Or is that now completely and forever off the table due to the buyback of shares?

Why not wait?

I know of at least two people in my department who quit in the past ten days. This makes no sense to me. Why would somebody quit on their own right ahead of what we know will be a major layoff round? Chances are they would have been on the list. So... — read more

I'm feeling optimistic

I think the worst is over and the next 2-3 years looks bright with minimal layoffs. Who else is with me?

Future Ain't Bright, No Need For Shades

Headline: "MediaTek Is Fighting Back Against Qualcomm To Speed Up Cheap Smartphones In China" MTK going to crash margins, the licensing business is collapsing, no diversification, & poor management. Bad times ahead.

Here we go again

Let the week of layoff speculation begin. We all know that it's coming and that it's going to be big. Now all we need to do is figure out how big exactly and when will it start. I really miss the days when guessing when the next round of layoffs was... — read more

QCOM needed NXP

In the show today, the managers sang and danced hard. But it show felt tired, repetitive. QCOM needed NXP to have a renewed purpose and to set a new course. Yeah also f--k you, china.
