I left and now I regret it. This place isn't perfect but it's still better than most.

Great place to do nothing and collect a paycheck. Striving to be average. Close the Gap.

Before you believe anyone on this website who is telling you how happy they are from leaving COP, ask yourself why they still spend their days on this site wallowing in self pity. I would not trust advice from these people at all.
I left for a new job. Took a hit withsalary but feel sooooo much better. For one thing I’m not expected (it’s actually pretty frowned upon) to do any work outside of business hours. Not like COP where I was expected to answer emails at 9 pm.
Don’t have this cloud over my head wondering when the next round of layoffs will be. Security and stress free makes up for the salary.
“Chronic Unease” is a pretty disgusting mantra for a company.
Thought a long time, left, and work is far more rewarding then it was with CPC.
Yes of course the prost---te dilemma. Sell your soul for financial security. You lose a little of yourself each day. I know the leadership: all they care about is seeing their asset value increase annually. They do not care about you. As long as you know the truth, you may be able to keep a little of your humanity, if you make it to the end.
@rp get out of industry. Measure wealth by other metrics. Some people account their mental health and job satisfsction as more valuable than $$.
Impossible in industry. Only companies that can go toe to toe with COP pay are EOG, Chevron, integrated internationals and maybe a couple of PEs. OXY used to go toe to toe but not so much anymore
@ek How are you wealthier? Did you go to a new company making more money or something else? Asking in all seriousness.
I left and it was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. Happier. Healthier. Wealthier. No regrets.

Naw, I left as did many others and we are all doing great and
much better than being at the low morale disfunctional sewage plant that COP is.
