Thread regarding Emerson Electric Co. layoffs

I painted the parking lot lines & entrance road lines at GE-Fanuc in 1995. I noticed how few employees there were here that day . This was a typical "Jack Welsh" (S-B) corporate sc--w job! Lynchburg saw his manipulations as he attempted to have GE build cell phones & mobile radios. Now the plant is Liberty University!!!!1

It’s the PLC business they bought from GE. The writing has been on the wall for that facility since the deal closed. The factory was highly underutilized and ripe for offshoring alongside DeltaV. GE burdened Emerson with a factory and property designed for 1000 people back in the day. Sad to see this happen but not unexpected.

What did they do in Charlottesville? How many people? Manufacturing?
