I see loads of job openings online (linkedIn, Baker careers etc.) but notice that many have been open for months on end and keep being reposted or duplicated? Whats the deal? Theres no way we have that many actual vacancies from what I can tell. Why keep advertising these same jobs over and over but not filling them?

I'm already employed at BH and I had a recruiter reach out to me on LinkedIn, on behalf of BH, to recruit me for another BH position.
Feels like a bit of a scam. Company pays a recruiter to find talent, said recruiter finds talent within the same company, and they get paid for filling the job posting. Same recruiter now had a new job opening to backfill, so they look for another BH employee to fill it and get paid. Now they have another BH position to backfill.
Basically playing musical chairs and taking the absolute easiest route ever to fill empty spots...with other BH employees. It's easy, and creates and endless supply of open positions that they need to fill for.
Looked like a third party company in India that we outsourced that to. Shocking, I know.
The BH Recruitment system takes so long to get to the first base that sometimes the job becomes redundant before interviews have even taken place.
Even if this is not the case, it takes the Recruiters so long to get back to people that many applicants have already moved on & accepted other employment because those bills don't pay for themselves.
I'd love to jump on the conspiracy bandwagon, but think that this has more to do with inefficiency & lack of prompt decision making at BH than anything else.
The chain of command from the coal face request to final sign off is too long, & nobody wants to take responsibility.
Rinse & repeat, It’s the Baker way.
They probably leave them like that to justify having to bring in workers from Tata wherever they bring them from Visa wise.
Watch out for Ghosts, BH are good at creating them, just as they are smart at hiding redundancies.
@ab but this is on the Baker Hughes website and official linkedIn. There a load of the same job postings under different locations etc. and they just seem to rinse and repeat for months never being filled.
@OP they are a recruiters scam, usually game design to gather your PI data for someone starting out to pad a portfolio or HR testing the waters. Spot them a mile off on just how they word the role.
