Transferring to another location

Does anyone know how hard it is to get a transfer to another job location? I want to go from Westlake to Jersey City. Thanks!

Supposedly location transfers are frozen until this RTO shakes out. Of course there are exceptions for the special people.

It depend what you mean by transfer. If you think this cheap company will pay for your moving, you better be someone important or know someone important. Otherwise, do not expect much.

If you pay for relocation by yourself, I do not think they care too much. Just do not try to transfer to places on the "no go" list, like Boston or New York/New Jersey.

Depends on your manager, or more likely their manager. I switched locations and I know of a few
others that have as well.

You sure you want that change?

It depends on context, but assuming that your role is eligible for Jersey City it would likely just take clearing it with your manager first. If your BU, department, team, etc... has no presence in Jersey City then you won't be approved to move to that location.

But keep in mind a voluntary move like that probably won't come with any kind of relocation assistance.
