It’s official. A manager officially announced they installed software to monitor offshore folks. Ended up cutting 6 of them. Stated not watching FTEs but that’s a bold faced lie. If you go to the bathroom too long you’ll start being micromanaged be careful out there!

@e6 agree! i spoke up in surveys for the past 20 years. The quality of work was awful. When you’re in conference calls you hear cars beeping, people speaking in a different language etc. But management shiz on FTE’s. Piling work and not giving COL raises.
No one cared in the past because they were so cheap. Guess the rates went up.

They needed software for this? I could have told them this 5 years ago. It's why I never used offshore on my projects. Did I lose my job over it? Maybe, but the boss was sleeping with someone who worked at the contacting company, so there's that.
LOL. So basically:
Replace 1-2 expensive domestic workers actually producing work with 6 offshore workers doing 0 work.
