Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

HPE Research and Cray

What about HPE Research and Cray group? What do those people do? Amy revenue out of there? Are they going to continue or on the chopping block? I hear they do some AI stuff as well

Not entirely sure exactly which group you refer to, but anything related to “Cray” supercomputing is at risk revenue wise.

What about the AI research I hear about tied to HPE supercomputing? Any meat to that? I don’t see any product out there connected to it. You guys know about revenue?

Cray technology is too expensive for the private sector it's exclusively used by the three letter acronym organizations.

There is no more "Cray". There is a "Cray" trademark that HPE uses on certain HPC products, but Cray was in part assimilated and in part purged by HPE over the past several years.
