Thread regarding Cognizant layoffs

Ravi's replacement is on deck

Optum is the external facing tech and services part of United Health Group. The Optum Insights CEO Sandeep Dadlani is aggressively outsourcing sales and implementation to Cognizant (and Wipro, Infosys, etc SIs). Huge new push to sell external vendor tech licenses that Optum didn't do before - turning Optum Insights into a SI.

The move makes significant internal friction. Veteran staff are leaving in large numbers as leadership brings in teams from India. US employees are frustrated Cognizant is literally competing directly with internal units. SD is running the business into the ground. He's also spinning up sales targets outside healthcare, which is odd.

Word in the boardroom is there will be a merger or buyout between part of Optum and Cognizant by end of year. Sandeep is positioning himself to take over as Cognizant’s CEO from Ravi.

Expect layoffs in both companies. Brace yourselves!
