Almost all the up streamers were piped out of my group. Now no one knows what to do and I am constantly having to explain things to the downstreamers who surround me.

The total lack of understanding of the upstream. The constant questioning of why is this harder than Guyana or the Permian. They were handed some of the best opportunities the company has ever had and are now confused that they can’t find more Guyanas. Surprise executives. It isn’t all that easy. Now executives are desperately trying to resurrect dog discoveries that have not been developed for decades. Gee maybe there is a reason we never developed them!
The downstreamers will ki-l the Corp. DWW is doing a fantastic job of it all by himself. The Horizon challenge is a failure of his Leadership; His hate of Liam M stopped all the growth in the Upstream.
Looking at all the change coming to the company, this isn’t the fight I’d be fighting.
Beware of the downstream they are snakes. I have never met such an evil organization. Baytown was full of them.
@OP Downstreamer here trying to digest Upstreamers in our business telling us that what they did was perfect. The sad fact is we are trying to throw two angry cats into a tied up sack and hoping to come out with two cats that agree on everything which is folly. Even DW in one of his epic interviews with Socks said to look for similarities but respect the differences but every time I get into a discussion with my upstream brethren they tell me why I’m wrong and refuse to respect that there are differences with respect to certain disciplines. That causes me to go into a FU mode and nothing moves the needle after that.
Becareful , EM likes to send EM people to train newbies, because EM does not want to pay for specific training, but at end, you will backstab by one of them or EM will replace for one them and not pay them like your are earning today. Remember Facilities at Permian.
Be kind, they don’t want to be there anymore than you want them there.
