Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Alabama stores: The condition of stores speaks for itself, and its not pretty!!

If anyone has been to stores in Alabama?? If so, then you are well aware that a huge disconnect exists between corporate and the store level. If you are not aware of this, you must be in denial or have blinders on.

Lack of upkeep, no hours for employees, cleanliness, renovations and/or repairs, hours, attention towards merchandising and visual presentation.

Non or poorly working air conditioning is an issue in most if not all stores. Perhaps the mythical golden stores have working air conditioning.

One of the most important areas for improvement is the customer service experience………it’s not existent…….atleast in Alabama belk stores…..one or two clerks……and that’s it, even on busy days.

However, come time for a visit, and hours magically become available with extra labor or long shifts. Then as soon as that visit ends, it’s back to hours being cut back and some people not being scheduled at all.

I work in a non-Alabama flagship store and we have some the same conditions: not enough associate coverage/hours, lack of running A/C, stuff always broken and needing repairs, etc.

Yes. It is the same in our store. The ultimate form of denial. It has become an embarrassing place to work.
