I am currently a grade 7 with I-shares that will mature for the first year in December. I am considering taking a grade 6 role, does anyone if that will mean a forfeiture of my I-shares? I could not find anything on the shares site or Fid Central to answer my question.

As been said… you keep what you have earned
"Wow! didn't know that shares was based on level?" That's the trouble with Fidelity is there is all these secret compensations. I probably had worked for Fidelity for over 2 years before I even knew shares was a thing. Been with the company for quite a while now and then I learned there are different classes/ levels of shares such as what the OP is asking about their I- shares.
I find the whole shares thing kind of a rip as there have been many times I was the top performer yet did not receive shares but when I switched to a different role and was a top performer I received shares every year. It's very much leader decided, if there is someone on the team they like better but may not be the top performer they may get shares over the top performer. I personally think it should be more that the top 2 performers numbers wise are awarded the shares so it gives everyone on the team a reason to strive to be the top. Of course, the numbers are often hidden as well. Fidelity wants to rank people but will not show the list to see where everyone falls. A lot like what Fidelity does with clients and making them dig to see their management fees on the website.
I think the first time I actually was awarded shares was during covid when Fidelity was working hard on retention. The thing about shares is the vesting period is just a carrot to keep you at the firm- maybe it works because all my shares have vested and now considering options outside of Fidelity.
Why are u lowering your grade buddy? Do u mind sharing pliz?
