@j5 and you sound like you are still employed by Lumen so why are you sniffing around TheLayoff.com and snarking on folks comments. Don't you have a job to do???

@ef sounds like they should have gotten rid of you long ago. No one owes you anything and clearly you’re entitled

@OP This is just another example of how completely disconnected SLT is from literally ANYONE else who works at Lumen. I no longer work there as of July I spent well over a decade there and every single time there was a 'town hall' or any kind of company wide call with SLT I sat there and thought "where do you work? I'd like to work there". Any of my comments as a front line employee voicing real concerns on behalf of my customers and myself that I posted during those town halls were either shot down (was actually told a few times by my management to stop) or just ignored. To survive at Lumen, you either drink the kool-aid and rah rah your way through the ridiculousness or you just shut up, put your head down and hope things will get better. They don't. They just got worse and worse and worse. Used to be a great place to work until the Queen took over and started paying all of her friends to come up with new acronyms and mantras for everyone to rah rah about.

More brainwashing. Even with the company sinking like titanic.

so gross. 'The fuller story is the human side'

what a hypocrite. she lays off thousands of people, still collects her fat bonus and stock options, hires her cronies, and them vomits up quotes about 'the human side'

i don't know how people like that can look themselves in the mirror in the morning

maybe she doesn't have a reflection, being a vampire would explain a lot

The stock price has spoken. The market can see the game.

What is “human” about laying off thousands of employees?

As both a Lumen shareholder and someone who dedicated years to the company and its customers, I find this message incredibly difficult to reconcile with what so many employees have actually experienced.

Thousands of people have lost their jobs during Lumen’s transformation. Many of them gave years—sometimes decades—to this company. Were they all perfect? Of course not. But many of us showed up every day, worked through constant change, and continued taking care of customers even when those customers were frustrated with Lumen and the declining level of service they felt they were receiving.

Those employees were the human side of Lumen.

When “Win Like He-l” was introduced, I genuinely hoped it represented a cultural change—a company that would listen to employees, rebuild trust, improve the customer experience, and create something better.

Instead, for many employees, this transformation has meant layoffs, uncertainty, disappointment, and watching experienced people leave while leadership talks about the “human side of disruption.”

Transformation may sometimes require difficult business decisions. But if Lumen wants to talk publicly about humanity during disruption, leadership should also acknowledge the very real human cost of those decisions.

As a shareholder, I want Lumen to succeed. But success should not only be measured by what the company becomes. It should also be measured by how it treats the people who helped get it there.
