If I get LR’d, and don’t return my Cisco laptop will they brick it? Has anyone successfully kept their Mac laptop functioning after removing all the Cisco bloat?

This will be the most expensive laptop you have ever "purchased". Return the damn laptop

The Apple laptops are registered with Apple and JAMF and will lock you out if you try to wipe and reinstall. Not worth the hassle when you can just get something on Facebook Marketplace or eBay that isn't effectively stolen.
@a8 who said "Connect it to internet" or how said do not do " ip route cisco-ip-subnet null 0" on your home router, where cisco-ip-subnet is any VPN public range they have (get that from your AnyConnect profile config file)
@a3 Reported lost or stolen and then connect it to the internet and it could get flagged for a police visit. Not worth the risk.
@a6 Keeping the laptop also means no severance. Payout comes after the return.

why would you want to keep a work issued laptop? are you one of those that used a work issued laptop for personal use? if you don't return the laptop as is other than signing out of your apple id, you don't get your separation package which i'm sure can be used to buy your own.
you can declare it lost or stolen and they will have to su-k it up! there is nothing they can do other than to charge you the declared value.
I think they might have these things insured so not even sure if they can charge you its full value
I doubt you’ll get your severance package unless you return it. Just a guess.
