Constant reorgs

What is it with our executives obsession with constant reorganization? How is it leadership when the reorg changes never last?

what’s hilarious is that managers never get cut

if you become even the most basic level of manager you’re immortal

this is the exact opposite of efficiency. 6 management layers to rule over an ever smaller pool

They never 're-org' themselves to India. Strange that.

It’s because the executives have historically ‘written themselves into’ the reorganization - not to mention the power-jockeying that also gets written into the reorganization. It keeps the bloated management layer but just moves it to a location of their choosing. It then goes unnoticed for a couple years (long enough for said executives to retire or plot their next move) and then it is discovered and reorg is ordered again.

It is the epitome on inefficiency and just hides management layers. I’ve given up trying to understand any company structure outside my organization and focus, instead, on the people I know can do the work. ….which is how it should be.
