I am getting ready to head up to 1500 in a couple hours for the IT Town hall at Engine watch party. Anyone else coming? 1500 floor 17! I for one am ready to hear what LC has to say!

IT is now run by brainless GMs who are just on Copilot all day
@OP
I watched the recording of the IT Townhall and it was a bit underwhelming. The most talked about topic was AI and how it will be so beneficial to the company. I believe it has a lot of potential for improvements in productivity but the Townhall did not explain how the business value will be measured. Reductions in cost can be measured but new cost numbers but improvements in productivity are much more difficult to measure. Using AI with CoPilot uses tokens and tokems cost money, so the measurement of business value will need to be measureable before it can be evaluated. There was no mention of that measurement just continued hype by the IT ELT staff. The future will be interesting in IT for the next 4 years as we approach the 2030 objectives.
@pr that’s the d-mbest thing on here in awhile. “Outsourcing IT to Microsoft” as if Microsoft does IT work. You know that Microsoft outsources their own utility IT work to the same cr-ppy MSPs as we do, right?
While we’re at it, let’s ask Oceaneering to frac our wells in the Permian.
Just outsource all of IT to Microsoft once and for all.
@dn so insulting. If you had any doubts the future of HOU employees now you know.
Yes he said we’ve never done tech delivery centers before
@dn did LC actually say that? I skipped it and don’t care enough to watch the recordings but that’s incredibly ignorant if he did. He knows nothing about our history yet has the gall to make such statements as that we’re doomed. ENGINE is the worst of all 3 by far the only thing it did better than MSSC or BASSC was how quickly it got stood up
@dn
I haven’t watched the recording yet. Thanks for the heads up
Why waste your time with any of this nonsense. You know what the playbook is- claim that everything is working well and we’re doing great. The business is unhappy with the service and complaining about what they’re paying for.
Let it come back to bite them. Look for something else while you’re waiting for it to crash. Offshore will move to the next company when they realize there’s no future here.
They sent out the recording for Houston people. What a damn joke.
For LC to say that Chevron has never done tech delivery centers well until he got in seat - what a slap in the face to all the people who work in, or helped set up MSSC and BASSC. Your whole ERP team is out there and have been transacting and closing the books for Chevron for years. They’ve at least done that well.
ENGINE IT has no historical knowledge and they’re just patting themselves on the back with all this innovation that isn’t being used.
Who in Houston dialed into the town hall?
HOU150 is in TX, central time zone. So, it’s approaching midnight there. Suggest that you shut it down for the night… get your 3 hrs sleep (as needed to catch the bus or drive but miss the traffic) in the wonder that is Houston.
If looking to attend in person, make sure to dress nicely as you’ll probably end up on TV…
You can’t be serious
