5 people left our team in the last 2 months. Everyone else is looking for new jobs. It’s becoming genuinely concerning, seems like a race on who’s going to get out first.

I felt te---r every year when LRs came around...
watching good colleages getting LRd year after year...
It was just business as usual
You know as an IC your number WILL come up sooner or later unless you make it up the poll to director or higher..
All part of the experience...
Endless layoffs and massive outsourcing of jobs to Eastern Europe and Asia is the reason many are not finding jobs ! The truth is out there !!
Most people at Cisco have been deskilled. They stayed in a steady job, working remotely and taking the pay check whilst their skills and market relevance eroded. That’s why most Cisco employees are now fu---d and can’t get interviews elsewhere. The few that kept up with their leaning will be ok. And no, spouting off BS about AI that you read on Linked-In does not count as keeping up with your training.
Claude and ChatGPT can already do your jobs.
The exodus just means more token spend.
@e2 this is my experience too. We’re gonna have to take a pay cut and get out of tech for the time being. Ruthless out here
Where are these people going? The market is dry as he-l, I can't get an interview to save my life. I think this is a general tech industry thing, people are afraid for their jobs and there's nothing out there.
OK, blatant liar confirmed. Way to go, I suppose...
You have checked on them all, to fully verify their contribution levels?
So you have, and you aren't doing enough of your own work. Or you haven't which makes you a blatant liar.
Which is it, chief?
Exodus? what the f.. Ok.., What these people contributed for CSCO bottom line? nothing right? mostly they got their American green cards while su-king on old milkies right? and now jumping ship? Please grow up you id--ts.
Cx EU here. Originally there were 17 ppl in our team, 5 gone in this round (g10-g12). The whole team had really high utilization, guys were LRd and cut access mid projects. Pure chaos.
@ca pay attention, this is just from one team. Considering it takes about 6 months to train an employee, 5 people from one team is massive and extremely impactful for the rest.
5 is massive 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What is causing this exodus? Recent layoffs, bad culture or AI?
I left last November out of my own choice and retired very early. I used to love going to work at Cisco but ended up hating the place and what it had become. Every bit of enthusiasm and excitement at what Cisco used to be and what made us all voluntarily work so hard because we felt we were working towards something great has gone. Now it is just another so-so employer cutting costs to the bone, deskilling people and constantly LR'ing folks without any clear mission other than spouting "AI" at every opportunity.
@bf You should read carefully, because the post says “in the last two months” not “two months ago”. Exodus is still going and the race is still on. The ones who leave last will be the biggest losers since they will have pick up all the work.
I guess the first 5 people who left 2 months ago got out first.
If it still seems to you that it's a race to see who gets out first, well, I guess the mystery is solved.
You should leave. you're a terrible communicator.
Endless LRs + eroding company reputation
Conditions are becoming horrible for those staying. I dread work every single day. Every change is making things worse.
I’ve never experienced this level of fear at a company. Everyone is walking on eggshells…
That is why they di not need an LR this time
