The STCB experiment has run its course. After a disastrous tenure at STCB, the time has come to bring it back to STCH and restore the academic standards, stability and direction that have been lost.
An initiative is now in place to reunite STCB with STCH and put education and academic leadership back at the heart of its future.
I think they’re mocking an earlier post. But yeah, STCB cuts are coming. STCH is no longer just a place where roles are shifted to STCB, since the situation there is changing too.

I wish this were true
The cost for exporting work to India is not what it used to be, and quality was also below par but barely good enough. And now it’s getting even worse because good people are being poached by the gigantic number of other companies trying the same thing. It feels like the days are numbered for that country.
They need to try to capture manufacturing as it leaves China instead of Vietnam or they’re cooked. They may be cooked anyway since the easy tech work they used to farm out can be done with two sentences and AI and that’s a large portion of their economy.
My dream would be for Trump to end H1B, CPT, and OPT and then to tax remittances and actually enforce the immigration laws we have on the books. Then India would be extremely cooked. It’s insane that we allow labor arbitrage and don’t even tax and then even give tax relief (no payroll taxes on CPT/OPT) for it. We pay taxes to eliminate our own jobs. Most countries have a double digit percent of GDP that’s money being send from expats in the US. We should tax it.
Actually, both will continue, but some deep water R&D will move to the new site, SCTT, in Trollveggan, Norway.
