@s5 yeah but not telling you what kind of job or where at ?? they may offer you a job 1/2 way across the country doing a job you have no interest in. If you decline then your railroad career is done and all you RR retirement is wasted.
UP has many tricks up it's sleeve to cut jobs without an official "Furlough". Medical Disqualify, MAPs, Coachings, Discipline, Attendance policy. They may "Guarantee" jobs but utilize their tricks to get down to the numbers they won't. Nothing guaranteed here at UP.
I believe it, but i promise they will make it a miserable job , especially if you're in mechanical.

Well the Mechanical department gets rid of good employees with no severance for a bogus cause.
