We let go of people who carried decades of institutional knowledge. Now we're competing against those same people who took their expertise elsewhere, and we're losing. Make it make sense, please.

Dinosaurs are ruling what nonsense are you talking about, dinosaurs are hunting the 4's and 5's in packs...
all of the competitors pay better and dont have 5 day rto. and before anyone moans about the “benefits” those are stripped away more and more each year and the shares and bonuses are being slashed at breakneck pace lowering overall compensation.
Make it make sense? It actually does.
If a company lets decades of institutional knowledge walk out the door, that’s a business decision. If those people take their expertise somewhere else and become competitors, that’s also a business consequence.
As an employee, though, you don’t have to solve that problem.
If you feel like you’re on a sinking ship, test the market. Apply elsewhere. Find out what your experience is actually worth.
And you may discover something interesting: you were never “just an employee.” You were carrying far more knowledge, judgment, and institutional context than you realized.
Then you land somewhere better and suddenly think, “Wait… this is it? This is the job everyone was making such a big deal about?”
At the end of the day, your career is your responsibility. The company will make the decisions it thinks are best for the company. Former employees will make the decisions that are best for them.
You should do the same.
Stop waiting for someone else to validate your value. Test the market, trust the results, and make your next move accordingly.
Yes! Actively looking at competitors and will be walking out the door with 10+ years knowledge
how are we losing? Explain please.
Yeah, it su-ks. Tons of changes. So you take a job in another department, and then realize things are a nightmare there and regret everything.
