Has anyone used the daycare on site? Is it good?

@vt I'm in waiting list for a spot on 6th floor of E4....I have heard there are so much more entertainment available there

@OP Yeah, I use it. It’s actually really nice. If you get there early enough, there’s covered parking. They have air conditioning, free coffee, and even hot chocolate. Everyone gets their own workspace. Technically the desks aren’t assigned, but if you sit in the same spot every day, people usually respect it. There are bathrooms on every floor, which is convenient.
They also have lots of activities to keep you busy throughout the day. Computers, emails, spreadsheets, meetings, little problems to solve, even group projects. If you run out of things to do, everyone gets assigned a supervisor, so you can just ask them if they have another activity for you.
Honestly, it’s a pretty good setup.
And the best part is the price. It’s completely free. Actually, they pay you to go there. They do have an aging-out process, but once you age out, they pay you to stay home and not do anything. It’s an amazing setup. 10/10 daycare. Would recommend.

I’ve used it for backup care quite a bit. Very satisfied with it. It’s convenient to drop the kids off on my way to work when we need the utilize it. So for $15 a day up to 20 times a year, it’s phenomenal.
Overpriced for full time though. It’s more expensive than my college tuition cost me at UT. I just can’t stomach spending that much for a 2 year old.
No, I didn’t, for two logical reasons.
First, it was overpriced. If it were free or something, maybe that changes the calculation. But it’s not.
Second, I realized pretty quickly that the best daycare, in my opinion, is the one closest to where you live. If your kid is sick, it's staying home and you’re staying home. Then, naturally, Mom gets sick next. Now the kid is better and could go back to daycare, except daycare is all the way at campus and I’m home sick trying to rest. Same thing if I’m WFH because I have car trouble, something going on at the house, or whatever else life has decided to schedule for me that day. Now, just to get the kid to daycare, I have to haul myself all the way to campus.
That’s when I realized my life is centered around my home, not the campus.
But it depends on your lifestyle and where you live. If you’re an executive and basically live at the campus anyway, then yeah, campus daycare might be perfect for you. Otherwise, for a working-class commuter like me, no way.
