Why can’t everyone just mind their business? There’s so much drama because everyone hates people more successful than them. If you put that much energy into doing your job you’d be happier I promise.

@d1 I’m trying understand their definition of successful as well. Dodging a layoff? Making it to executive level? Not having credit card debt?
The rich and successful have always been revered in this country with the promise or often the illusion that it’s within our grasp as an average American. Perhaps that “goal” has become too unattainable now that even with a good paying job and working hard, it’s hard to feed your family when ground beef is the same cost per pound as NY strip steak was a few years ago.

I put a ton of energy into a job I loved for 9 years, and spoiler alert: I got laid off.
