Thread regarding PayPal layoffs

PayPal employees are in acute uncertainty

That's it, that's the post. This itself is inhumane. Imagine the psychological damage to thousands of people. Horrible.

This is engineered exit conditions made steadily harder to work under until people walk on their own, so the reduction happens without anyone having to make a decision they'd need to put their name to.And the part that stings isn't the restructuring itself. Companies restructure. That's business, and most of us are adults about it. It's the silence. Not one email. Not one line acknowledging that people are sitting at their desks reading rumours about their own livelihoods on a message board, because no one internally will speak. This organization has an entire communications machine for launches and quarterly narratives and somehow none of it can be pointed at the people who actually keep the place running.Silence is not an oversight. It's a strategy. Ambiguity is cheaper than severance. Everyone who breaks and resigns under the pressure is a payout avoided, and the toll it takes is treated as somebody else's problem.
