As thankful as I am to be employed, the nightmare here never ends. It isn’t the work itself that is stressful, it’s the culture. There’s too little focus on competence and too much focus on sycophancy. Some senior “leaders” know nothing, don’t listen and make baseless, bullsh-t decisions (ahem Lise). I don’t know how people with zero technical acumen can make technical decisions. Furthermore, they are too bull-headed and busy kissing ELT a** to even take practical, technical advice. Additionally, they are trying to manage people out; even employees who have been high-performing are getting slammed across the board, pretty much out of nowhere. If ever there was a toxic environment, this is it!

@hc Your manager will hand your workload to an existing member of the team and then sack them when they become swamped and are designated as non performing.
WTF. This is the pits. I've been given another account to manage. No decent pay rise. Why can't we just hire more people ?
Is people not a good investment ?
Thank goodness I am leaving soon. They can hire 2 people to replace me. They can train them up and hope they don't leave once they realize this place is a cesspit.
Nailed it!
Love a culture where competence is optional but kissing ELT a-s is a core competency. High performers getting slammed out of nowhere is just the company’s way of saying thank you. Truly inspiring stuff.
