Lots of IT people cut in Columbus

IT IS TIME for the corporate bully boys to get their beat down. They have over played their hand for decades and it is time to call their bluff. They can claim they are unarmed victims but we all know immense wealth is the most dangerous we-pon of all.
Employees are not going to pay for corporates' bougie aspirations. Stealing from employees to feign or excessively amplify financial success is a loser's and failure's weak not woke strategy.
It is time to overmatch the arrogance and bellegrence of corporate bully boys and make them cower before their betters. We are Americans and we shall prevail againsedt all who seek to subjugate our right to a free market economy that includes wages. Wage suppression is the theft of the rewards of honest hard work. Corporate theft must not be rewarded by our representative government, our free market economy or our society! No king, no crowns, no corporate fiefdoms in our America!
No mention of Labor Day on the Corporate propaganda page, is an affront to every employee of AEP, who sweats and bleeds so shareholders can have a richer life. It is time for a company wide strike. DENY, DEFY, DEFUND.
@2kds We the people are the political parties human capital from which they derive their political campaign contributions by selling our collective representative authority, our constitutional and human rights and our tax revenue. Human trafficking is a heinous crime and it is time for the perpetrators to be harshly punished for their abominable sins against decent and respectable people.
@2kdf Imagine, if all the Americans reduced to chattel by the political factions/parties unleashed their rage and wrath upon the human rights traffickers, their financiers and their political influence peddlers, the American Revolution rebooted, tyranny shall not prevail.
@2kay Cheaters and manipulators hate it when another faction of cheaters and manipulators out perform them. It would be refreshing to work for Americans with morals and values rather than partisan hacks serving only themselves.
@2kd7 Yeah, I'm sure the mayor got on the phone and called every big company in Columbus and said "you better RTO or else you'll be sorry!" And the C-
Suite at AEP said "not today! We'll move to New Albany and show you that we want 3 days of work at home!"
If the theory was that Columbus exerted pressure on AEP leadership to force RTO, then could moving out of Columbus be a way for us to get hybrid back?
How do I become director?
I want the big bucks.
@2k8e Very well said. In my opinion, TR and her acolytes are the godform of what all the AOC and Bernie philosophy promoters on this board dream of. How was the utopia TR ushered into AEP? TR was a wet dream to your idealistic values.
@2k5h Therace used to use PIPS as a means to get rid of managers to open a spot for her cronies. Sanjay, Heather, Chris, Ann, and Kim all come to mind. They didn't deserve the positions, they just kissed her but from previous companies. Which is why I really hope TR gets a new gig somewhere else and all of her cronies follow her to lie to the next batch of people at the next company. At some point they'll stay out like musical chairs, I just hope it's not AEP. They are a cancer here.
Dont worry at AEP the least amount of work you perform yields higher returns from management. Never could understsnd why it works like that. Of course some management will not acknowledge the truth. I have seen people on PIPS get more career opurtunties than high performers. Dont understsnd it. Hopefully Carl will fix that.
@2jzc mine has, it's almost 10am and I just got done with my second cup of coffee and haven't done Jack this morning. Isn't it great 👍.
Company wants my but in a seat in a cube, well there are downsides to that.
Mine sure has.
Anyone else's productivity drop like a rock ever since RTO? It's so hard to focus while being surrounded by constant talking.
Sell off assetts and rent them back. Give profit of sales to wealthy shsreholders.
@2jq8 according to the county auditor, AEPSC owns 1RP, and has since 2023. Parent AEP owned it before that.

@2jp6 if I was a betting man, I would say New Albany. If they were to move, AEPSC would have to get out of the lease for 1RP. Years ago, I was told AEPSC cannot own any assets, as it is a service corporation. I'm not a 100% sure who actually owns 1RP. Maybe they can just walk away from it or at the very least, sell it
@2jg1 I’d like to know where they’ve been rumored to “relocate”? Many of the surrounding Columbus skyscrapers are equal age to 1RP. Other than building brand new, what are the options they are considering in this media report??
@2jjq
You have to have submitted a request and been approved for 24 hr access.
Do our badges work on the weekends?
@2jhb Why do all the AOC and Bernie bros come here? Go to reddit or vote Kamala in 2028. Sheesh
@2jg1 Exploiting the taxpayers of the communities we serve to enrich shareholders. Corporate ethics and integrity truly mean absolutely nothing to our corporate leadership. Do as we say not as we do because stealing from you is moral flexibility and stealing from us is immorality in our unjust church of unholy economic self-righteousness.
@2jfh that's been off and on again for years. Gahanna and Columbus were trading tax breaks for companies years ago and they called a truce after it was bleeding both of them dry. As far as I know, IT can not move back into 1RP because it's not ready. That's one reason for the delay until November or so. Rumor has it they don't know where to put them. Management is in such a mess, they have no clue. They have no clue where to put them.
1RP does not have the infrastructure for today's needs and upgrades will cost an arm and leg. While the work is ongoing, where to you put people
Again, goes back to management, they have no clue and it's a total f up
anyone have information about the news article that mentioned moving out of 1RP? I'll link it here, but I'm not sure links are allowed

How has your tenure as CEO impacted the lives of our customers, employees and retirees? At the end of the day the first two are essential for the existence of the company and the second and third gave the company its identity and reputation. We demand a truthful and non-bureaucratic legalese answer because we have earned and deserve one. You are the new guy, who has yet to prove your worth and worthiness to be one of us. We have been growing this company for decades and you bully your way to the profit trough and start gorging yourself from day one, this uncouth and tyrannical behavior does not build a collaboration relationship or culture.
@2j5y could of. Would of. Should of. All great questions bro.
Here are a few questions for next time:
- How’s RTO going? Is all that culture and collaboration a rousing success?
- We seem to be having more injuries on the job than usual. Why isn’t the scorecard resolving that?
- After year one, have you gotten at least one hobby?
- Why don’t you move to Columbus?
- Do you dislike your family?
@2j5h if that’s how he is, he won’t last long with the C-suite.
Make the new German IT sidekick the CEO. He's not so defensive, likes to listen to people, has just as much leadership experience, and oozes charisma.
Maybe next time he should just throw a couple pre-recorded generic questions from field people at the end and then not ask any from the live studio audience, just like he did at the last quarterly webcast.
@2j3t Wow!! Correct me if I’m off here, but this pressing for questions comes off as somewhat combative? Almost like he’s daring someone to test him about his theories and practices. It’s weird. It sounds like even if people ask a question, that still doesn’t suffice. It has to be one where he can take stage and “elaborate”. I don’t get it!
The problem was no one had any softball questions for him. A few meetings ago, someone asked him a question and he basically dressed them down about it being a yes or no question. Bill when you dress down someone even for a simple yes or no question, this is what you are going to get, silence. Get use to it because when you act like a d 1 c k h e a d, people will keep their comments to themselves.
I'm sure there was a pretty good robust discussion after your meeting ended
I find Bill’s hot mic incident kinda funny. Do you remember when Bill first got to AEP and he and his team would mention how steady and unemotional he is? I understand we’re all human but this is very ironic.
@2j17 So much so that he threw a little baby temper tantrum. There goes that 200% ICP!
I find it very humorous that Bill would expect his Yes Men to ever question him or engage in any type of meaningful conversation at all, especially in front of other people.
Fk it, let’s go bowling dude
If the customers knew what really goes on at AEP, I honestly believe they would support local employees and start a witch hunt to bring down the great and powerful OZ and his flying monkey goon squad. Residential customers and small businesses should absolutely not be subsidizing load guarantees to ensure data centers have all the energy they need. That cost should be their burden not ours. Residential customers do not derive income from their electrical load and most small businesses profits margins are razor thin compared to large corporations. This spread the enormous load availability guarantee fees to all customers is criminal in its design and intent.
@2j0b It isn't so much about being a prude or whatever, it goes to show character.
