@34yn There is no collaboration in a corporate dictatorship.
@34ym CEO scorecard so we can hold CEO accountable when we find his performance disappointing as stakeholders. Why are shareholders elevated above stakeholders? Do we live in America or the old Soviet Union? No communist oligarchy in America.
@34yf Employees need to have discretionary decision making on CEO compensation payout just as CEO has discretionary decision making on Employee's ICP payout. Accountability is a two way street and for far too long AEP has been a one way accountability dictatorship.
@34v7 What are the chances of Bill getting injured or ki-led while working at AEP? That is the difference between us and them. We put it all on the line to earn our pay and serve our customers knowing there are any number of variables that can cause a tragic outcome and we are lowballed on compensation while the corporate guys with no skin in the game rack profits off the table with both arms.
There are more employees seeking medical care for work stress related medical conditions and more employees retiring earlier than expected because of workload stress and toxic culture. As the CEO of the company he IS responsible for the health and well-being of his employees and he is failing us and creating unnecessary hardships for AEP employees' families. Short sighted leadership increases profits for AEP shareholders and decreases the value of employment for AEP stakeholders.
Can I just day as an employee of AEP, I hate this company. I know hate is a strong word but I really do hate this company.. I'm here for a pay check and that's it. I'm trying to do everything that is asked of me and nothing more. I may do a little bit here and there but nothing that cuts into my personal life. The company does not pay me for after hours work so they don't get it.
If Bill wants to sc--w all of us, figure I could do the same. Bill, I can do just enough to NOT get fired but not enough to cause me stress.
@34rw Ridiculously tone deaf memo. Par for the course. A death on the job isn't a disappointment. It's a tragedy. In fact, in any EOY recap, an emotionally intelligent leader would choose a word other than "disappointment."
Looks like we had a lot of disappointments in 2025, hope all of you are reflecting on how you could have done more.
We didn't cause anything you're 'disappointed' about. All of that was upper mgmt. You spent our bonuses hiring high-paid talking heads who won't be doing any real work anyway. Consultants are doing it.
Keep layering on patronizing insults though. If there's anything you're good at, it's not reading the room.
As employees, shareholders and customers we do not all endorse your corporate major shareholder centric emphasis on creating value because we are suffering far more than we are gaining as are our fellow employees and customers. Your lack of empathy for others shall be your downfall when others respond by prosecuting your crimes mercilessly. All reigns of tyranny come to an end and the oppressed always determine the end of their reign. The hour glass only holds so many grains of sand and your reign of tyranny is experiencing a rapidly diminishing existence. You have been offered opportunities to repent your sins and you have chosen self-indulgence over self-improvement. You own your outcome and its earthly and eternal punitive consequences. Indulgence and grace have their limits and you would be wise not to exceed them.
@348n And we have no representation on the corporate board as stakeholders, shareholders and customers.
@3485
Quite a few of aep employees are also stockholders.
From hourly to salary.
Maybe you don't work here,
Otherwise you would know that.
@3485 thanks chatGPT
Numerous studies and sources indicate that an overemphasis on shareholder value is a significant systemic driver of employee burnout. The pressure to prioritize short-term profits often leads to corporate strategies that increase job demands and reduce employee resources, fostering an environment ripe for burnout.
While individual coping mechanisms and resilience play a role, experts largely view high rates of burnout as a powerful warning sign of systemic organizational imbalances, rather than an individual's failure to cope. Prioritizing employee well-being is increasingly seen not just as an ethical choice but as a business necessity for long-term productivity and talent retention.
We know what you are doing and how unhealthy it is for employees. Cease and desist or we are going to sue for deliberate wrongful harm created by criminal conspiracy. Often prosecuted under statutes like 18 U.S.C. § 371 (defrauding U.S.) or § 241 (conspiracy against rights). Act like criminals and you get punished like criminals by the people you are willfully and deliberately harming for personal gain.
@33jz We did our self evals in November and our managers are scheduling 1:1's in January. Your manager should be telling you this info, but no surprise that they aren't.
Management has deadlines but no idea when they are. I would keep an eye out on your calendar for any future entries. Merry Christmas!
Can anyone answer my question or am I the only one who actually works here
@33r0 The latest 31 Flavors of disconnected corporate culture with no consideration for the employee experience and functionality. We might as well be run by a bunch of selfish and spoiled children, who only think of themselves and make everyone else just want to leave and go home with their football.
Who the heck was in charge to change AEP now home page? The page looks god awful. Looks like a CBS news website! I cant even find my timesheets or payslips
@33nc Where are the remote reservations bro??? I lost my WFH. Get me some that.
Dang yalll!
Did you guys see AEP was on ABC6? The reporter was standing right on our building corner outside 1RP during that story about Operation Buckeye where ICE locked up that illegal Berner. Our great leader in the big house putting AEP on the map!
When are we supposed to have our annual performance reviews?
@33fh Hypocrisy is blatant and inexcusable failure of leadership.
@33fb Lay off the shamanic mushrooms bro.
@3395 As employees we are charged with enforcing corporate integrity and morality and our corporate leadership is deliberately failing to meet or exceed the bar we have set. They must be held accountable, if AEP is to endure and thrive. You and your big bags of cash are a arrogant affront to every employee and you shall be punished by the faithful, who shall not tolerate your Godless and faithless heresy.
@338n “The Wicked” won’t be punished any time soon. They’ll walk away with big bags of cash in a year or two, and the whole cycle will start again.
@3110
No hiring, just more work. Our team is minimum 50 hrs/week and most of us do more. We're tired. Going to the office has been horrible. Constant disruption. Also, it's not very clean. We do talk about retirement quite a lot.
@2ytp this is 100% accurate in AEP Ohio.
@3253 Hope is waning and despair replaces the passion that built AEP. Rigged outcomes inspire no one and discourage everyone to accept mediocracy as the reality of our tormented and tortured existence.
@330v Famous people famously telling the truth that certain people do not want to hear.
A record number of Americans turn 65 in 2025, marking a "Peak 65" for the baby boomer generation.
The new wonderful corporate leadership is beginning to see the consequences of their smug arrogance as the number of employees electing to retire early rather than endure any more of this crony conservative narcissistic B/S continues to rise. No longer is 65 or even 62 the average retirement age. It as soon as you can marginally afford to leave and escape this crony conservative concentration camp. No Republican Gilead for us.
@32xc First J.K. Rowling visits our little corner of the Layoff Board and now Mark Twain resurrected? Man. This is shaping up to be the best Christmas ever.
@32xa Conservative cronyism at its worst.
@32jz Let’s be honest, this isn’t a mystery. One office gets a flashy renovation because the head of that office has a long-standing reputation for reckless spending and no real oversight. Other groups are left scraping by because they don’t have the same unchecked latitude.
What makes it worse is that this same office has consistently driven people out , including long-tenured employees, and instead of that being treated as a red flag, it’s effectively rewarded. When someone can burn through budgets and burn through staff with zero accountability, the message is clear: leadership behavior doesn’t matter, only who’s protected.
@32rk Fewer employees in the corporate realm means greater profits, greater shareholder value and greater Corporate Officers' compensation and less chance of an ICP for OPCO employees as OPCOs will most certainly have to absorb the additional employees into their current budgets. The system is so absurdly rigged we should all just walk away and be better off for doing so.
I am surprised no one has mentioned the recent KPI added to every shared service group’s 2026 scorecard to review and report on why their work should continue to exist centrally instead of in the opcos - due at the end of Q1.
Threats to tank ICP before payout.
Make phish tests so difficult the average person will fail.
Go overboard on O&M.
All things the everyday employee can control 🙄.
@32kn No point in arguing among each other. It's who we work for is the problem.
@32ka Maybe one groups budget actually exceeds its annual needs while other groups are short changed, who have more variables like weather patterns, terrain or larger cuts to their right of way trim budgets and staffing. It is never apples to apples. It is always apples to blackberries, mushrooms or ginseng. Seven disperse operating companies are not the same and neither are their budgets, revenue or challenges.
@32jz may one group is better at managing their budget and timelines?
