Employees are feeling the pain. People that are not boots on the ground have no clue how bad things are here.
They never admit their mistakes
It's not that I'm happy that the company isn't doing well. I am more frustrated because all this is happening due to long-term mismanagement. No one wants to work here anymore and it is clear that UP has a big problem hiring. However, again, those... — read more
UP will never stop trying to improve profitability through cuts
Everybody needs to realize and accept that. At the same time we were posting some of the best results in UP's history a few years ago we were having major layoffs. There was no need for it from the financial point of view but they wanted more... — read more
I wish I would have quit school when I was 16.
That way I could have joined the railroad sooner and started making money. You don’t need an education to work here anyway.
Employee retention plan. ?
Can’t see the plan working yet to keep people employed at UP. IT Telecom guy quit this week.
They don't pay us enough for this cr-p
We're understaffed so much that the work is becoming increasingly more dangerous. Who do they think they are to expect me to risk getting hurt at work while receiving a joke of a raise that's four times under the inflation rate? AND while already... — read more
No one wants to be some kind of variable cost
Unfortunately, I had no other option and I desperately needed a job. That’s the only reason I applied here. I knew UP considered employees as a variable cost, but I couldn’t afford to be particularly picky. I guess that's the main reason most... — read more

With every new job that UP posts, another life is ruined
I can’t blame UP, applying here was my own decision. Moreover, at that moment I was happy just to get a job. However, from this perspective, it would be better that I never got a job here. Now that my health is ruined, I definitely lost more than... — read more
Working at UP affects the overall quality of life
It is enough to spend only half a year here (or even less), to completely lose the sense of fulfillment and enjoyment in life. Even if I was paid more and they gave me better benefits, I would still quit. This place is exhausting. I believe that... — read more
The worst company that still has a lot of great employees
There aren’t many, but there are still some great, knowledgeable employees here who would be much more valued elsewhere. How does UP still manage to keep them? It's a mystery. If I had the skills and experience like they do, I would forget that... — read more
2022 strategy cascade
