We all know what’s going to happen. Selection of people who were or about to be laid off doesn’t seem entirely strategic. There will be a mess in many teams, a lot of work and particular tasks after people who were let go. Crippled teams will simply... — read more

Any new insight for Streaming P+ Tech Marketing that anyone has heard or thinks
Is everyone else getting prorated bonus?
Is anyone below VP receiving their prorated bonus? There are discussions in other threads, but they weren't totally clear. If folks at all levels can provide context here, that would be helpful. I for one am an impacted senior director and don't see... — read more
Vacation
FYI - for those that were affected or will be affected by lay offs. Unless you live in the following states: California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts and Montana you will NOT be paid out for unused vacation time as it is not required by state... — read more

If you want to be laid off what should you do?
How can I guarantee I’ll be apart of the next layoffs? I’m burnt out and don’t want to be here anymore. I don’t have a job lined up but have savings for 6 months.
What happens with teams that lost more than half of their people?
This doesn't apply to me, but I'm curious what will happen to them, since I know of at least one such case.
Do SVP Managers know the names on the list? Or just the EVPs?
I know they can't say anything, but when they want us to give 2 weeks notice, it would be the right thing to at least hint that you should start looking elsewhere.
More today?
I heard that more layoffs happened today (Wednesday) has anyone else seen this happening in their departments?
Luck Negotiating Packages?
Understand its 2 wks per year of service but has anyone had luck negotiating beyond that? Do we know if they’re rounding up years? if you get laid off in the 9/24 round but your hiring anniversary is the following week? All the WARN talk is... — read more
Amid Paramount Layoffs And Skydance Talks, CBS Sports Has Emerged "Largely Intact" And "Strong"
CBS Sports CEO David Berson said the volatility at parent company Paramount Global, which is laying off 15% of its U.S. workforce and preparing to merge with Skydance Media, isn’t taking his division off its game. “There's no doubt that the media... — read more
Union Buyouts
Serious question. If the company is giving severance why not just offer buyouts to our union friends? Cut your losses and send our friends out to pasture
I wish it was all done in one day
Or at least that I was laid off on day one. We don’t need prolonged anxiety and uncertainty. As if any of us will manage to be productive until it’s all over. Cost of months-long layoffs on our well-being and work performance is too high. And I’m... — read more
Any chance streaming/tech might hear who's next to go earlier then 9/24/2024? Would rather hear now than go through agony of 6 weeks of waiting
I get it, layoffs are part of life. No one is begging P+ to keep us employed. We're adults/professionals and will survive this. We already knew it was employment At-Will. However, would be nice to know right now where we stand with respect to... — read more
future of NY tech operations - NOC/CCC and those under Mr P.W.
offloading real estate was at one point a possibility as a cost savings measure. LI has the NOC and the newer CCC building (formerly HBO) down the road which is occupied with Showtime folks. Then there is the CBS broadcasting center.... what are the... — read more
Layoff Top Tier
Bloated Paramount management could be downsized by elimination of DEI baloney, which has nothing to do with television whatsoever. Invest in the nuts and bolts of the industry and not just the nuts. Three CEOs?! For that?!
Unionize
I strongly believe that Paramount needs to unionize. This entire situation would not be happening if we had a union. Layoffs every 6 months are abominable, and we deserve more stability in the workplace. Thoughts?
"Three Phases" of Layoffs. Sept 24 and... Maybe Nov 14?
The CEO's email yesterday morning stated that the layoff process would take place in three phases. Obviously yesterday was Phase 1, and it sounds like Sept 24 could be Phase 2. When will Phase 3 be? From what I heard, many let go at Nickelodeon... — read more
Is the ship sinking?

How will tomorrow look?
I can't sleep, I'm too nervous about what's been happening. A good friend from the legal department lost his job today so this already hit close to home. I tried to offer him words of encouragement but I knew myself they were empty. I'm petrified... — read more
Why does P+ IT keep acting like nothing is happening?
The keep scheduling meetings ant talking about PI Planning like it’s business as usual. Who in their right mind can focus on anything but job searching at this point? 6 weeks is a long time to wait. This was executed very poorly. Shame on the pep... — read more
What about Chris McCarthy’s team??
Was his overall group impacted at all? Given the write downs for the cable networks announced during the Earnings Call, his team should have had massive cuts. He is incompetent and creates chaos with his awful style of work.
Ad Sales
Does anyone know if ad sales was affected? Or if that will happen in September?
Streaming is safe (for now)?
Chatter is that streaming will be hit in the September phase. Anyone hearing otherwise?
How is everyone doing? Mid-day check in...

Can anyone share what their severance package is looking like? Are bonuses included (wishful thinking…)
This whole thing makes me miss Bob
Looking back at it, Bob was a decent CEO. Obviously he wasn’t losing sleep over us, but from what I’m picking up he was relatively hesitant to do huge layoffs like these. And when he did do layoffs he did it all at once. In a single day. None of... — read more

Am I getting this right?
Layoffs will last through September? Please tell me I'm misunderstanding something.
Today is the day!
Good luck! If you are one of the unfortunate people please tell us what organization you are from. Maybe severance details? This will help others ensure they get something competitive.
Good luck to all of us tomorrow

Any last words or rumors??
For people delivering bad news & those who stay
If you have to deliver the bad news to your direct report: #1: DO NOT make it all about you. If you cry, it’s not the person’s (who was just laid off) responsibility to comfort you. And don’t say it’s the most difficult thing you ever had to do... — read more
As long as they get it over with quickly
I hate the wait more than I hate the cuts themselves.
This was expected
But it still isn’t pleasant. I can’t afford to lose the job now. But I guess I can’t influence the outcome in any way, so I’ll just try to manage anxiety. Good luck to all of you guys, and try to have a nice weekend, if possible. — read more
