What Walmarts are closing in 2021?

Massive pullout on west coast

Walmart sr leadership is producing a midterm strategy to reduce stores by half in Washington, California, and Seattle. The overall goal is to pull back expansion for a minimum of 3 years due to the rioting. Surprise. Surprise.

Oct 1 call ins

Interesting that this policy change comes with GWP-Workday. You need people there not calling in to make it work. you have to eliminate social distancing to work in a team. Coronasvirus coming back in round two. Layoffs and not enough people.

Don't be fooled by the raises talk

Don't let this story fool you into thinking Walmart is doing something overly good. There will be a LOT of hourly employees losing their positions and forced into lower paying roles. Some will have the possibility of severance. Salary roles are being... — read more

Boycott Walmart

Stores are trying to force workers to have open availability. They are reposting your jobs and making you reapply with open availability. Definitely don't apply, make them fire you so they have to pay your unemployment. Furthermore, if you stay they... — read more

Attendance returning

As of yesterday we have a sign at the time clocks and health desk about attendance returning on October 1. Is anyone else seeing it in their stores? I think this is great news.

Call out points

Is it true these points being waived are going to come back when the attendance system gets turned back on next year from calling out during the pandemic?

Not so appetizing?

Just read a very smart analysis on reasons why Walmart's grocery shares are rising slower than those of our rivals. I would say that losing a piece of the pie in groceries has also something to do with our management who couldn't care less about our... — read more

Buyers should pay attention

I keep hearing that there will be more cuts at home office. If you are in merchandising and haven’t seen the writing on the wall, you are an id–t. First they cut buyer time in chair bonuses. Then they forced merchandising/merch support to stay... — read more

Non covid-19 related layoffs at Walmart

Christmas in September

Walmart Hired Thanos

I work in Bentonville HO, and so far everyone I have talked to (especially in Merchandising) saw half of their team let go. This is oddly similar to Thanos’s Snapture. So either 1) Walmart hired Thanos, or 2) John had great inspiration from Avengers... — read more
