Topics regarding layoffs at Walgreens

Who'd have thought...

Walgreens CEO says anti-shoplifting strategy backfired: ‘When you lock things up…you don’t sell as many of them’ After reporting a 52% increase in shrink, or lost inventory, in 2020 and 2021, Walgreens invested in increased security that proved to... — read more

Nickel and diming workers on their way out

Earnings aftermath

Now that earnings went so well (lol) - are layoffs still happening January 31/sometime in near future?

Putting lipstick on the Walgreens pig today

Look at the facts while Walgreens PR is working overtime. Stock price a year ago was $24.68. Even after the price increase today the stock is still down more than 50%. No other company in S&P 500 performed worse. Company continues to lose money. Net... — read more

We are on a sinking ship

We don’t need an earnings report to find that out. This year will be worse than the last, and it’s obvious that nobody is even trying to turn the ship around. Don’t wait for the axe to fall. Be proactive and prepare for whatever comes your way. Who... — read more

Tomorrow

Just saw rough numbers for tomorrow’s call. Worse than expected is all I will say. 100% more store closures are being announced and corporate layoffs will follow.

It begins.........

Walgreens announced it was closing a dozen stores in San Francisco because of what it called "increased regulatory and reimbursement pressures" in the latest round of retail store closures in the city.

People love to catastrophize

What do you get from scaring everybody with vague posts that most likely won't come true? I'm genuinely interested to know.

Alot is about to happen, be ready

Look for options and jobs. Soon ...... even faster that most of you think. Be proactive for your career, not reactive when they do what they are about to do.

Layoffs

My department has recently partook in “business continuity” planning, they are basically having us put together a training book on how to do our jobs, anyone else think this will just be used to train our replacements overseas?

Layoffs

Do directors know layoffs are coming? If I am a manager, does my manager know what is going on? I just do not understand how everyone is acting normally when we ALL know layoffs are coming. Especially with these 6 Agincourt Deep Dive sessions -... — read more

Key business update… is it possible for the buyout?

I like it here

Layoffs

Next round of layoffs in Deerfield will be announced Jan 31. Around 200 more roles that they are moving offshore to India. Mostly under Tracey’s team.

Remote work policy

Has corporate changed its policy on current staff who choose to move out of state? I was told that they were no longer allowing people to move due to spouse re locating or otherwise, to keep their job and work fully remote?

Well now, if that…

They are not even trying to save the company

This destruction seems on purpose. It’s near impossible to do so much damage in a relatively short period of time without intent. Nobody is that incompetent. I’m so sorry for all of us that we have to go through this. I dread what awaits us next... — read more

Look for other options - start now

Don’t let this leadership take you down together with the company. It’s obvious it will get even worse from here. If they sell, most of us will be on a chopping block anyway. Act in your best interest.

And through it all…

This has been the plan since 2014.
