Is this it?

Scott was just told to turn in all uniforms tomorrow. Company going with a 'different uniform company'.

BAkersfield

So it looks like Bakersfield made it through the hard times. How many BP’s are left there?

Is it safe or a big risk??

Is it safe or a very big risk to stay working at weatherford. Or would you even suggest a person to go back and work there again?? A guy always has to look out for themselves I guess.

WFTIF

Maintaining a positive attitude throughout our bankruptcy will help us rebound quickly after the case ends. The federal bankruptcy laws can help us reshape out finances and get a fresh financial start. So put a smile on your face, and know that... — read more

Should I stay or go?

So I have a guaranteed job with Gyrodata. I’m nervous to switch after being with WFT for a year now (wireline). I don’t want to leave WFT for greener grass that turns out to be poison ivy. I’m getting semi-decent hours and I like who I work with and... — read more

Is Weatherford still a thing?

You guys ummm, still there? Saw WFT dissapeared from the stock exchange. Haven't been on this site in a few months. Hope everyone has their escape plan ready.

Is there any hope

Does anyone have any positive info about weatherford and what direction they are headed in? Where will they be in a year or two? Do employees get out or stay? Will the paychecks keep coming or will they not be able to pay you one day??

Monopoly

It’s best to think on WFTs current situation like a game of Monopoly. In this game they bought a bunch of properties, some were good, some not so good. For example, Park Place and Baltic Avenue. But they spent most of their money hoping to cash in as... — read more

Sell offa

Rumour is that the big man Mark McCollum will be removed from his position next week after some divisions are sold to Schlumberger and Halliburton. No confirmation of which divisions but it will be announced on Monday

Liberty lift

Liberty lift taking over in Bakersfield layoffs are coming shortly

Only about 10% of Chapter 11 filings result in success; far more often, they end up in Chapter 7 straight bankruptcy, in which the company close

WFT Execs now negotiating their bonuses for when chapter 7 is filed. Upon each failure it is important to boost the Executives moral because we do not want to loose the inexperience and incompetence that has lead us to this point. We must stay the... — read more

WFT

A normal way that the American free market system has worked is that we have a process of unwinding. It's called bankruptcy. It doesn't mean, necessarily, that the industry is eclipsed or that it's gone. Often times, the phoenix rises out of the... — read more

Enroll in the ESPP, Great Opportunity for Employees

I remember when the ESPP was rolled out a few years ago. It was not long after massive layoffs, and furloughs. Around the 3rd or 4th year of not having a pay raise. It was pitched as an opportunity for employees to invest their hard earned money. (I... — read more

QC Dyce shambles

What a shambles QC at Dyce is. One bloke did 95% of the work and he has quit. There are 3 guys with Inspector as title and get paid £32k a year but only know how to use feeler gauges and a forklift. The manager spends all his time processing o rings... — read more

At the end of the day the fact is that WFTIF is being traded for 4 cents. This means the company has no value.

Again weatherford is misleading employees into believing that there is a future. This is a run out the clock game. Kick the can down the road a year, 6 months who cares when your making 4 million a year and get a years salary severance if you get run... — read more

Nobody is planning for Weatherford's future

Unfortunately the ones that can make a change are the ones being let go! And this should be the best indicator to everybody on how much is being invested in this company's future. Nothing. I don't think they're even trying to hide it anymore - they... — read more

RIF list already in place & everything for sale

All GZ VPs have made a RIF list that has to be ready for the end of June, Mgtmt team preparing for CH.11 questions and reduction readiness. Also overheard by C-suite from KB...Everything is for sale in every country. Slice and dice time coming up... — read more

This is the move of a bad management

Weatherford has been badly managed from the start. Not surprising that they would be trying to hire people at the same time they are laying folks off. The real question is why would anyone consider taking a job there. They have been in a death spiral... — read more

Weatherford job postings

Why are there current job postings with this company if there are layoffs coming? I had a phone interview a couple weeks ago and have still been in contact with a recruiter about final decisions..

In a nutshell - fairytale to a nightmare

Rigzone article today! M&A can make – and, at times, break – a company, perhaps the most recent example coming from Weatherford’s recent announcement to file bankruptcy. “Weatherford is a classic example of a company that was built through 100... — read more

Is anything happening these days?

Anything happening in the context of layoffs? God a little quiet on this board in the last couple of days and I can’t see any symptoms of cuts at my workplace. Has everything really quieted down?

Customers are key but............

The article today in the Houston Chronicle waits until the very end to highlight one of the major issues/hurdles as to Weatherford being able to exit Chapter 11 as a viable entity going forward. Right now in addition to the “Perception” that WFT is... — read more
