Marketing - Or, How I Lost My Job And Learned To Love The Bomb
Whole Foods Global and Regional have keenly demonstrated today that they know NOTHING about real marketing. Prime example: Love Fest going on while you are self-destructing. All those $500 gift cards would translate into over 100 jobs for a year. All... — read more

At least 40 team members ( primarily ones who have been with the company a long time ) are getting cut. Thanks for supporting team member happiness! I'm sure the lucky ones that remain will have a great time picking up the slack.
SW Region Are TMs on Final
at risk? Some of my fellow tms were let go today. This has been a very sad day. Those of us on final are wondering if SW is continuing to let more of us go, based solely on our final status. Any info would be appreciated. Good thoughts sent to all.
More cuts to come in January?
It wasn't me this time, have been encouraged to work harder to get closer to targets, as if fear is a healthy performance incentive.
MW PFDS Buyers
Are they being cut, or are they safe? I can't see them making too many cuts in the PFDS department considering how much product needs to be order daily.
Ann Arbor Michigan.
So far only the marketing team member was let go, so I guess we have been "lucky", if you want to call it that. STL is claiming no other team member's jobs are being cut, but I don't quite believe that yet. We will see what happens.
Alternative Career Options
Anyone has a suggestion?
It's getting real in hell foods
Time has come to wake us all up. It's time to reinvent yourself! Go back to school, acquire a skill, find another job "or invent one" and put Hell Foods behind you. There's always light at the end of the tunnel if you search for it.
The MW region so far seems to be pretty unaffected...
The only real changes and layoffs seem to be most marketers and some grocery buying positions based on sales in individual stores. I think the MW region runs pretty tight for the most part so we were able to escape the shit show going on in other... — read more

We lost over 20 people today to layoffs - more than 10% of staff
NOT the 1.6% extrapolation of 1500 losing jobs. The 'press release' stated that after the layoffs, there are 2000 current jobs plus 100 new stores opening. They came up with 1500 final estimate after the 2000 are filled and 100 stores staffed --... — read more

Any news on people in grocery specialist positions (grocery, dairy, bulk, frozen, etc.) getting laid off in the NC region?
My TL is pretty convinced none of our 6 grocery specialist will get laid off. Considering the new company norm is supossed to be 4 buyers per grocery team, I'd say it's safe to say at least 2 of us are getting canned tomorrow. What's the word in the... — read more

I think some people are getting off by purposely throwing rumors out there. Keep this to what we know not some random speculation. Seems like most of the earlier post were legit and these last couple are trying to scare people.
Can anyone explain the gainsharing restructure to me??
We haven't heard anything about this at my store (SO region) but I can't help but assume it will happen to us eventually. Someone please explain to me what it means for gainsharing. Thanks!!
Any news on NC region?
My store just lost the entire marketing team and the bakery specialist today, with a high chance of more layoffs tomorrow. What's the situation at other NC stores?
